The intention is to remove the complete working engine from the 2012 CX5 and install it into the 2013 CX-5. Preferred approach: I am looking for the simplest and most reliable full-engine replacement rather than rebuilding either engine. Ideally, the job would involve: Confirm engine/engine code compatibility between the 2012 and 2013 CX-5 before commencing. Basically, I bought a car that had damage on the left side door, and I believe that’s the door with the faulty sensor. The sensor is located inside the door. What needs to be done is actually pretty simple, basically remove the door trim/plastic panels to access the latch and make it stay permanently activated, so the car stops showing the door open warning symbol.
