The Situation: The property suffered a sudden water/backflow event. The existing bathroom waterproofing (which was only installed in 2023) has failed. Previous trades on site noted that the concrete slab dampness caused the shower drain to physically lift, which broke the membrane. The insurance company is trying to claim this is "long-term wear and tear" and only wants to pay for a minor patch job. What I need from you: 1. Visit the site to inspect the shower base and lifted drain. 2. Provide a brief (1-page) formal report on your business letterhead. 3. The report simply needs to state your professional opinion on the cause (e.g., the drain lifting compromised the membrane) and confirm that under Australian Standards (AS 3740), a "patch repair" is non-compliant and a full wet-area strip-out is required. Requirements: • You MUST hold an active QBCC license (Builder or Waterproofer). • You do not need to quote on the actual renovation work, I am strictly paying for your expert assessment and the written report. • The property is vacant and keys are available locally, so you can attend anytime this week.
