Top Volkswagen Service related questions

The advantage of having a Volkswagen is that it comes with a unique system of letting car owners know when to schedule a service. Once your Volkswagen is due for maintenance, the service light on your instrument panel lights up. If your car is under the Flexible Service Regime, this will occur when you reach 18,600 miles. Under the Fixed Service Regime, on the other hand, this will happen after a year or around 10,00 miles, whichever comes first.

Yes, you can. When you hire a Tasker to work on your Volkswagen, you can also have them conduct an MOT service on your vehicle. A specialist performs a visual inspection of your car and tests the condition of your brakes, tyres, lights and other components. They also determine whether your vehicle meets the minimum road safety requirements or make any recommendations to ensure your Volkswagen complies with MOT standards.

A coolant flush on a Volkswagen 118 TSI 2012

$150

Lidcombe NSW, Australia

22nd Jan 2026

We have underground parking and we have visitor parking Labour A coolant flush on a Volkswagen 118 TSI (typically the 1.4L Twincharger engine, code CAVD/CTHD found in Golf/Jetta/Tiguan) is critical maintenance, as these engines are prone to cooling system issues. The process involves draining the old G12/G13/G12evo coolant, flushing with water/cleaner, and refilling with the correct VW-approved antifreeze to prevent overheating and corrosion. Important Specifications & Components Engine Type: 1.4L TSI Twincharger (Turbo & Supercharged). Coolant Type: We will buy >>> Remove the lower engine shield (3x T-25 Torx screws). Drain System: Locate the lower radiator hose or drain plug (usually on the passenger side or bottom of the radiator). Place a drain pan underneath. Remove Reservoir Cap: Remove the coolant expansion tank cap to allow faster draining. Flush (Optional but Recommended): To remove old buildup, you can use a radiator flush additive, ( we will buy ) to flush water through the system until it runs clear. Reconnect & Refill: Reconnect the lower hose/plug. Mix VW-approved G13 or G12evo coolant with demineralized water (usually 50/50) and refill the expansion tank. Bleed the System: This is critical for the 1.4 TSI. Start the engine, turn the heater to max heat, and allow it to reach operating temperature to open the thermostat, allowing air to escape. Finalize: Top up the coolant level to the "Max" line (do not overfill). Important Tips for 118 TSI Water Pump Check: The 118TSI is known for water pump issues. A flush is a good time to check for leaks. Alternative Method: Some technicians remove the secondary water pump hose to drain more fluid effectively.

I also need the suspensions to be checked, and possibly the turbo as well — I’m not sure what the exact issue is, so it may need to be inspected to determine the problem. I can also send you the full report from another garage, which lists all the parts and repairs that need to be done. Could you please let me know your availability and provide an estimate for these repairs? Thank you!

Once the job was completed I released the funds as I normally do for any task I have had done in the past. He then asks me to transfer him another $100 saying that he wrote that in the open messages before accepting the offer which I never saw and he couldn’t show proof of this to me. The guy is a scammer. Also broke my clip frame.
