I have the base of an IKEA 3 seater Friheten sofa bed in my unit that I need carried down three flights of stairs into the garage. This will require two strong people as the couch is heavy and needs to be maneuvered down a fairly narrow stairwell. (You’re welcome to take the couch with you for free if you’d like it! I’ve got a large sofa bed in my spare room that needs to come into my Living room. It won’t fit through the door. I initially got the sofa into my spare room through the back window just above ground level and that will be the way we get it out. It’s about half a floor above ground. The living room is at the front of the house, and one floor up. The sofa bed mechanism will have to be removed so it’s not as heavy. Take the bulky sofa frame back out through the back window. Walk it to the front and pull it in up over the balcony (one floor up). I think it would be possible if you can take the bed part out first, because that’s pretty heavy. Then put the bed back in place in the sofa once it’s come in over the balcony. Given the way the fabric works it might HAVE to be THIS Solution; remove the bed and put it in over the balcony. I was considering taking the arms off and getting it out through the internal door and hallway, but I don’t think the fabric will work for that sort of disassembly and reassembly.
