The main role is to keep the kitchen and party areas tidy and running smoothly throughout the evening, so I can enjoy the party rather than worrying about the practical things! I’m very happy to have a video call beforehand to run through the space, the party plans and exactly what will be needed. Some of the tasks will include: Putting rubbish into the bins and checking bins throughout the evening to make sure they aren’t overflowing Washing crockery and cutlery and putting them back out for reuse Cooking some finger food in the oven Washing serving trays Getting the area ready for pizza Tidying up after pizza Getting the area ready for cake Tidying up after cake If needed, putting out some additional finger food before finishing Keeping an eye on toilet paper and topping it up if needed Sweeping the kitchen floor before leaving Wiping down kitchen benches and surfaces before leaving Making sure the kitchen and party areas are generally tidy and presentable at the end of the night Putting any rubbish bags down the side of the house at the end of the night What I’m looking for: Someone who is reliable, proactive and comfortable working independently. You don’t need to be a professional cleaner or caterer — just someone who is happy to pitch in, keep an eye on things and help the evening run smoothly. We're looking for a friendly, reliable person to assist at a small celebration of approximately 30 people for my dad's 80th birthday at our apartment in Toorak. Date & Time: Sunday 14th June Approx. 4:30pm – 7:30pm (it starts at 5pm so basically just coming a bit earlier to get the lay of the land) It's a relatively small group of people, maybe 30 or so, so we're just looking for someone to casually help pour wine/beer/champagne and soft drinks for guests, maybe keep drinks topped up, help collect used glasses and plates throughout the afternoon etc. We are doing platters of food for people to help themselves to on long tables so there wouldn't be too much food handling, maybe walking around with some of the plates of food from those platter tables would be great. Being an 80th as you can imagine most of the people are in their 60's/70's/80's with a few of us in our 30's. It's a very relaxed, very casual family and friends gathering rather than a formal event.
