Mould removal from vintage Herman Miller Eames chair I’m looking for someone experienced in mould remediation and/or cleaning vintage upholstery to carefully clean a vintage Herman Miller Eames chair. The chair is approximately 55–65 years old and has what appears to be its original brown fabric upholstery, which was in very good condition before being placed in storage. Unfortunately, significant surface mould has developed on the fabric while it was stored. The priority is to remove the mould and mould spores while preserving the original fabric. I do not want the chair aggressively steam-cleaned, saturated with water, bleached or treated with harsh mould-removal chemicals. Ideally, I’m looking for someone who can: * Carefully HEPA-vacuum the upholstery to remove dry mould and spores * Clean the front, back, seams/ribbed sections and underside * Assess whether any further treatment is required after the surface mould has been removed * Use methods/products appropriate for delicate or vintage upholstery * Avoid excessive moisture, heat, bleach or harsh chemicals * Help ensure the chair is clean, dry and suitable to bring back inside the home The chair is an authentic vintage Herman Miller Eames Aluminum Group chair, so preserving the original upholstery and avoiding damage is important to me.
