Hi there, I'm looking for a qualified carpenter or builder to convert an existing single internal door into a double door. This is for an internal plasterboard wall . The goal is to create a new double door opening with two 720mm doors. The scope of work includes: • Protecting the area (floors, etc.) • Removing the existing single door leaf and its frame. • Cutting the plasterboard wall to widen the opening. • Supplying and installing a new, wider lintel/header to properly support the new opening (approx. 1440mm+). • Supplying and installing a new double door frame/jamb. • Supplying and hanging two new matching 720mm door leaves (open to discussing re-using the existing leaf if a match can be found, but quote for two new ones). • Supplying and installing all hardware (hinges, handles, and a meeting stile/latch system). • Patching, plastering, and sanding the new wall section and frame to be "paint-ready." • Cleaning up the site and removing all demolition rubbish. In your offer, please: 1. Confirm your qualifications (e.g., carpenter, builder). 2. State whether your quote includes the supply of all materials (lintel, frame, doors, hardware, plaster) or is for labour only. 3. Need an internal door trimmed, 5 mm off each side, and 10mm on the top and bottom. Would suit someone with a panel saw, needs to be straight etc. Looking at purchasing an internal door from Bunnings, 2040x770 but must be cut to 2020x760. Should be easy for someone with a panel saw. 10 minute job Happy to swap for IT services also
