Hi everyone, We recently bought a house in NSW and found the pool barrier is non-compliant. We’re looking for someone experienced with pool fence compliance upgrades (AS1926.1 / NSW rules) who can recommend the cleanest and most budget-friendly solution and carry out the work. 1) Glass pool fence issue (Photo 1) • Current glass barrier height is about 1.0m • It needs to be 1.2m • We want to know the best option: • Can a 20cm glass extension/top-up panel be added to the existing glass? • Or is it better/cheaper to replace the glass panels with 1200mm high glass? • If extension is possible, how is it fixed (clamps/channel/top rail) and will it pass inspection? 2) Boundary wall / climbable issue (Photos 2+) There is a wall around the pool boundary that is approximately 1.8–1.9m high, but because there are small garden/raised areas near it, we’ve been told it may be considered a climbable point. Someone mentioned that once the glass fence issue is fixed, we may be able to apply for an exemption because the boundary backs onto a park (not a neighbour) — but we’re not sure what’s actually possible. What we need ✅ Inspection + clear recommendation ✅ Quote for the best fix (budget-friendly + clean finish) ✅ Installation/work completed properly ✅ Ideally supply any compliance paperwork / coordinate with certifier (if you can) Please let me know your suggested solution and rough cost range.
