We’re looking for an experienced handyman or carpenter to do some updating/repair work in the original part of our older home. The job involves: * Removing the existing quarter round throughout the original part of the house. * Removing and replacing skirting boards that are too damaged or dinged up to keep. * Replacing damaged architraves and door surrounds/frames where needed. * Matching the existing profiles/styles as closely as practical. * Cutting and fitting everything neatly, including corners and joins. * Leaving the timberwork ready for painting. * Taking away/disposal of the old quarter round and any other removed materials. There are quite a few areas to work through, and we’d like someone with a good eye for detail who is experienced with older homes and finish work. You don’t necessarily need to be a qualified carpenter — an experienced handyman with good carpentry/trim skills would be suitable. Please include examples/photos of similar work you’ve completed and your availability. For the purposes of this ad, I’ve just included a small fee for some initial work, with the intention that further work and payment and negotiated on site.

Reinstall existing pre-cut skirting boards Looking for someone experienced with skirting installation to reinstall existing skirting boards following new flooring installation. The skirting has already been removed, cut to size and numbered for each location, so this is primarily a refit/reinstallation job rather than a new skirting installation. There may be a few mitres that need minor adjustment for a neat fit. The flooring area is approximately 100sqm, however skirting is not required to all walls/areas. Looking for someone who can work neatly and ensure nails/fixings are driven into the correct locations and the skirting is securely and cleanly fitted. No filling, painting or skirting supply is required. All skirting is onsite and ready to reinstall. Please bring the appropriate tools and nailer.

In order to fit my fridge into the space, need some help to: - Remove skirting board on the sides of fridge cavity. ( fridge is 880mm, fridge cavity including skirting board is 900mm) - Either build a small cabinet on top of fridge OR shorten the existing one OR move the cabinet higher. The existing cabinet has been removed but can be reused. The existing cabinet is only a few centimeters long. We were told the hinge mount could be tricky to remove since it is stick to the cavity right now( see photo) - paint the cavity if needed and move the fridge in. Please quote for labour only. Ideas welcome!
