1998 Holden Jackaroo V6 3.6l Petrol. Dual battery setup was installed around 2000kms ago. 120Am slim line battery sits in back of car with a 1200w Sin Wave Invertor and a DC/DA charge controller. Everything has run no problems until we lost all power (everything - power steering, all lights and electrical in car) while rolling into our carpark. Car is parked safely and easy assess. Looking to fault find with someone with electric/car mech knowledge. - Due date: Before Wednesday, 24 May 2023
Paid $180 dollars for him to put a multimeter on my battery and say it's dead. No fault finding offered. "Get a new main battery and then pull out all the wiring that leads to the dual battery and see if there's a short somewhere" Zero interest in info I was telling him about smoke coming from separate area to main battery, dismissed all input and just knew better. Every bit of info he told was wrong. If you don't know, don't take the job.
