Oven stopped working while roasting chicken a while ago. About a month ago I tested it and it turned on, but as soon as I switched the oven knob to the 'bake' option it made a pop noise and I've been too scared to turn it back on since. Googling possible reasons I've seen that the baking element may have burnt out? Unsure if a tech is required as last time I checked the over turned on fine it only made the pop noise when switched to bake. I want to pay a fully licenced electrician (who can demonstrate to me that they are legally qualified to do this type of work in Qld) a decent hourly rate and be present as an offsider to: replace an existing oven and cooktop with newer ones the same size which I will have onsite; install the necessary RCBO safety switch in box outside required for these 2 replacements; replace 3 faulty light switches; replace 1 fanlight with a normal light; and install 5 compliant smoke alarms which I believe are required in rental homes commencing 2022. The house is a single level, low set on concrete slab, brick veneer home with a concrete tile roof. The house is approx 30 year old and was built as Air Force housing I believe. I will supply the the light fitting and 2020 Westinghouse Wall Oven/grill and the Belair electric Cooktop. These fit the existing cut-outs. I would like to pay you for the cost of the safety switch and the actual hours you work. I am going to Post the Task as a 3 hours job at $65/hour ie: $200. If it takes longer than I will make up the difference at this hourly rate in cash on the day.

Oven started tripping the power last night. When you turn it on, electrical flash comes from behind the rear element and trips the power again. Quote required for repair and or replacement depending on what's most cost effective in medium term.
