Looking for a handy, experienced tasker to help with a DIY wooden bench project. The help would involve: (1) cutting two planks of wood into trapezoid shapes (measurements already confirmed and can be provided before the job); (2) attaching metal reinforcements/brackets/mending plates to join/stabilise the planks of wood; and (3) securing frames/legs to underside of bench. The end result should be a sturdy bench, ready for use. I will provide the wooden planks (pre purchased, or we can discuss sourcing), the metal reinforcement hardware (brackets, screws etc), the frames/legs and any other materials needed. The tasker will need to bring a saw capable of angle cuts, drill / drill bits, screwdriver / screw gun, measuring tape (square and level) and possibly sandpaper for finishing edges. The ideal tasker will have basic carpentry and furniture building experience, be proficient in using a saw to cut angle shapes, be comfortable using power tools, detail oriented, and should provide photos of similar past work (if available). This is hopefully a straightforward project, but I would like it done well. Happy to be present and assist while work is being undertaken. Hi, I'm looking for someone to build a small outdoor sauna setup in my backyard in the Bouldin neighborhood (Austin TX). Two parts to the job: 1. Build a 6' x 6' slatted wood platform: excavate and compact a gravel base, set 9 concrete deck blocks, frame with 2x8 pressure treated joists at 12" on center, and deck with 5/4 x 6 western red cedar. The sauna weighs about 990 lbs so the framing needs to be solid. 2. Assemble the sauna and heater on the platform: the SaunaLife CL3G is a kit sauna (stave construction, comes on a pallet with instructions, about 30 to 45 min assembly per the manufacturer). The heater is a HUUM DROP 4.5kW that mounts inside. I need both assembled and placed with the glass front facing east. I have full blueprint drawings with a framing plan and cut list that I can send over. I will hire a licensed electrician separately for the 240V/30A circuit and the 120V lighting circuit. Note: there is a protected live oak in the yard. The platform clears the root zone but the builder should be comfortable working near it. If you have experience with decks, platforms, or sauna installs, I'd love to see photos of past work. Thanks!
