Top Recliner Chair Repair related questions

There are many possible reasons why your recliner chair isn't reclining. It could be broken cables under the seat cushion, a loose lever or lifting mechanism in the exterior, or even any nuts and bolts that may have come off under the recliner. Loose wiring or a fuse problem can also affect your electrical supply, which stops your recliner chair from working properly. While these issues can be frustrating, minor adjustments can quickly fix the problem.

The average lifespan of a recliner is about ten years. Recliner chairs that are often exposed to children and pets may suffer from more scratches, stains, and other damage while those that are only used occasionally may last longer. Keep in mind that how long your recliner lasts all depends on how careful and gentle you are while using it. With proper maintenance, your chair can offer you years of comfort and reliability.

Repairing a recliner chair is a pretty simple and straightforward process. In most cases, it takes around a few hours to assess the damage, perform the necessary repair or replacement, and conduct a final assessment. If you want to know the time frame of your recliner repair service, feel free to ask your Tasker, and they'll be happy to go over the job with you.

Having a recliner chair offers incredible comfort when you need a bit of relaxation. To maintain the quality of your recliner, make sure to clean your chair regularly by wiping away dust and dirt and using a vacuum when necessary. Nuts, bolts, springs, coils, and other mechanisms should also be oiled at proper intervals to keep your entire recliner running smoothly and with ease.

Definitely! Airtasker isn't limited to just one or two types of services. If you have newly purchased recliner chairs, you can hire an assembler to put them together so you can skip the headache of trying to put the entire thing together yourself. You can even hire a tradesman or building contractor if you want to completely revamp your home's lounge, living room, or man cave.

Yes, they can! Airtasker is an ideal place to outsource all kinds of home maintenance work. Whether you need a skilled plumber to repair your pipes or drainage system or an expert electrician to get your downlights or wiring cables replaced, Taskers can help you. Just make sure to specify the service you need on your post since services vary from Tasker to Tasker.

Expect to pay $100 to $400 for recliner repair services. Different factors influence the cost of fixing recliner chairs. Minor fixes, such as replacing a lever, fall on the lower end of the range, while complex mechanical repairs can cost more. Recliner chair experts can also charge additional for other services. For example, labor costs for reupholstering recliner chairs can range from $583 to $1,500.

Whether you need an in-home manual recliner repair or a power recliner chair repair near you, include all the details of your task to get the best quotes from Taskers offering recliner chair repair in your area.

Recliners are prone to common problems due to frequent use. Some of the common issues with recliners are:

  • Broken levers and handles
  • Uneven or stuck reclining
  • Motor and wiring issues (for power recliners)
  • Upholstery stains, wear, and tear
  • Sagging seats
  • Weakened frames
  • Broken springs

If your recliner has any of these, it's time to book a professional recliner chair repair near you.

Furniture and upholstery shops often provide recliner chair repair services, but you’ll usually need to transport the chair to their location. If you’re looking for a more convenient option, Airtasker has you covered. You can book an in-home repair service or arrange for a Tasker to pick up your recliner, fix it, and return it to you.

With Airtasker, finding local professionals for recliner repairs near you is quick and easy. Simply post a task, compare Tasker profiles, read reviews, and select the best offer that fits your needs.

What do recliner chair repair services include?

Recliner chairs are a popular choice for many homeowners because of their unbeaten comfort and visual appeal. What most people fail to realize is that recliner chairs contain several mechanical or electrical components that can wear down over time. If your recliner chair sags, makes squeaking noises or is unable to recline completely, you need to have it checked and repaired by a skilled handyman. A recliner repair service includes a visual inspection, repair or replacement of damaged parts, and a final post-repair assessment.

Here's a more detailed view of what to expect when you book with Airtasker for your recliner repair:

Recliner chair assessment

Before starting the repair work, your repair handyman will ask you for more details about your recliner, including the brand and model, to assess its current condition. From the pull handle and footrest to the seat padding, they'll check for any signs of damage and even test out your chair to get to the root of the problem. You can also mention any issues you've experienced while using your recliner, which can include sagging cushions, screeching noises, or your entire chair getting stuck while reclining. This way, your handyman can immediately figure out what's wrong and perform the proper repairs.

Recliner chair repair

A recliner repair is a simple process of replacing any defective parts depending on the damage. If your recliner sinks upon sitting, your handyman can easily replace any broken or disconnected springs. For a jammed or malfunctioning footrest, a faulty pull handle or ratchet is probably to blame in which case your handyman removes the old parts and screws in new ones. In case your chair fails to recline, it's simply a matter of installing a new lever and stabilizing the joints.

For any squeaking or other unusual noises, all your handyman has to do is spray a specialized lubricant all over the nuts, bolts, springs, hinges, coils, and other moving mechanisms. Regardless of the damage or problem, the Tasker can make every effort to get your recliner repaired so you can skip the hassle and costs of having to buy a new recliner.

You can choose an in-home recliner repair service or arrange for Taskers to pick up your furniture and deliver it back to your address once it's been repaired. Apart from getting your recliner chair fixed, you can even book other furniture repair services and make the most of the Taskers' services.

Final recliner chair inspection

After fixing any faults and repairing any damages, it's best to do a final inspection of your recliner to ensure a successful job. Your Tasker can inspect your recliner from top to bottom and confirm if all previous issues have been corrected. There should be no more noise, sunken cushions, or any difficulty maneuvering the lever and pulling system. Your recliner should also recline smoothly and up to the exact degree depending on manufacturer specifications.
