Chemicals and treatments
Just because your pool’s clean, doesn’t mean the water is (whether it looks green, cloudy, or clear)! One important part of swimming pool cleaning involves your pool technician testing your pool to gauge the quality of the water. They’ll check the result and treat your pool with chlorine or salt to balance the pH, alkalinity, and calcium hardness of the water.
Filter cleaning
Pool filters do a lot of heavy lifting to keep your pool water nice and clean, so it’s important that they’re kept clean. Your pool technician will empty and backwash your filter before giving it a deep chemical clean. They’ll also check the filter cartridge to make sure it’s working properly and advise you if it needs replacing.
Equipment check
Once your pool is clean, your pool technician will check for any visible cracks, tears, leaks, and other visible damage. They’ll test any ladders and handrails to make sure they’re secure. Finally, they’ll inspect your pool’s pumps and engines to make sure they’re working properly. If anything seems out of place, they’ll let you know so you can organise a fix or replacement as soon as possible.
Deep clean
Most pools will require more than just the leaves scooped off the top to keep them clean and safe to swim in. Every few months (or if your pool is looking particularly dirty), your pool will need deep cleaning. Deep cleans are carried out by pool technicians who will get rid of built-up debris and clean out any smaller particles floating in the water. They’ll brush and vacuum the pool walls and floor with professional equipment before cleaning the decking around your pool, leaving your pool fresh, clean, and ready for swimming.
