What do pool maintenance and repair services include?
Swimming pool maintenance and repair services encompass everything that's required to keep your pool in great shape. While it's tempting to DIY this task, it's always better to leave it to the pros who have the experience, knowledge, and tools to maintain swimming pools. Besides balancing your pool water and adding the right chemical treatments to ensure proper pH levels, pool maintenance can also include assessing your pool for damage or leaks and cleaning your pool filters and pumps.
Airtasker makes it easy to find a swimming pool service nearby to help you with whatever you need - from pool cleaning to pool repairs.
Pool repair
When facing pool repair, timely action is crucial to prevent further damage. From leak detection to pump replacement, skilled Taskers assess and address issues efficiently. With meticulous attention to detail, they restore functionality, ensuring a safe and enjoyable aquatic experience. Trustworthy pool repair services offer peace of mind, preserving your oasis for years to come.
Domestic pool maintenance
Domestic swimming pool maintenance starts with a visual inspection to check if your pool equipment is in good running condition. Pool specialists carefully examine your pumps, skimmer baskets, motors, and filter systems for signs of damage and address or repair any leaks. They can also check your pool walls for structural cracks.
Afterward, your pool expert maintains your pool water's pH balance by adding the correct levels of chlorine, alkaline, and other chemicals. They conduct water testing to see if additional treatments are needed to maintain chlorine levels and keep the water clean. This way, you can fully enjoy your pool without having to worry about its safety or cleanliness.
Once your pool is ready for use, how about getting lessons from a swim instructor? Whether you're an adult needing to polish your swimming skills or a parent looking out for your child, there are plenty of experienced instructors you can hire for safe and professional swimming lessons.
Above-ground pool maintenance
Above-ground pools are becoming increasingly popular, and it's not hard to see why. They not only cost less, but they're also faster to install and easier to maintain. If you need someone to take care of your above-ground pool for you, Airtasker is here to help. We can connect you with pool service specialists around you to vacuum your pool, brush your walls and tiles, clean your pumps and filters, and balance your pool water. Some specialists can also help with hot tub maintenance or hot tub cleaning.
If you use your pool often, you can book weekly above-ground pool maintenance, so your swimming pool is kept clean and well-maintained. Why not take a step further and enhance your backyard? Our platform also lets you find experts who can install pergolas to add to your home's aesthetic appeal. You can even take it up a notch and find contractors who can put up a fence and make your backyard the perfect place to kick back after a long day.
Seasonal pool maintenance
Whether you need to prep your pool for the summer or have it winterised for the cold months, pool service specialists on Airtasker can get it done. A pre-season check can include removing your pool cover, clearing away debris, adding the required chemicals, and reconnecting all pool equipment.
Swimming season might be over, but that doesn't pool owners should leave their swimming pools during the cold months. Taskers can offer seasonal maintenance services to help with these tasks. Winter decommissions involve draining your pool, protecting your pipes, balancing the water chemistry, and finally fitting a winter cover to protect it from harsh temperatures. With seasonal maintenance, your pool is kept in excellent condition all year round.
If you're opening up your pool for the summer season, maybe you also need a handyman to assemble your outdoor furniture? Or how about someone to put together your new BBQ for that perfect summer grill? Whatever you need to get done, Airtasker can lend a hand!

I have a small pond which had a large filter that broke coz of the pressure. We installed a smaller filter but the pressure wasn’t enough for the feature to output water. POOL - fix
$10
Oakhurst NSW, Australia
22nd Oct 2025
Hey Airtaskers! I’m reaching out regarding our pool at our rental property. We’ve had an issue with the skimmer box and poor suction from the vacuum. Instead of replacing it (as pool shop quoted a few thousand dollars), I decided to repair it myself. The skimmer box is now working perfectly, but unfortunately, something went wrong with the sand filter afterwards. Since then, I’ve let the pool go, and it’s become quite green and dirty. We just extended our lease for another two years, so I’d really love to get the pool properly fixed and maintained again. Ideally, I’m looking for someone who can: • Drain, clean, and repair the pool (especially the sand filter – I suspect the issue is with the sand inside). • Then provide regular maintenance afterwards. Would this be something you’re interested in taking on? I’d be more than happy to assist however I can. Thank you so much, Hedvika
He arrived promptly, assessed the situation immediately, and clearly knew what he was doing—no time wasted.
