Mobile Mechanic Wanted – 1970 Ford Falcon V8 I’m looking for a qualified, mobile mechanic with experience in Ford V8s and performance engines to work on my Falcon at my home. It has a 351 Cleveland engine and C4 automatic transmission, professionally built to a very high standard years ago. Completely running well before I parked it due to illness. Meant I haven’t started it for more than five years. I’d now love some help getting it safely running again while I'm at my own day work. Looking for someone who can: • Drain and safely remove the old petrol from the fuel tank. • Change the oil and filter, check and pour new oil under the rocker covers to lubricate ensuring everything is nice and easy. And arefully turn the engine by hand using the correct method. • Check the fuel system, build oil pressure, make sure all other engine safety measures have been done before cranking. • Put car on stands, remove the wheels so I can take them to tyres shop for replacement. • Also other repairs and modifications. •I want someone not just for one job, but someone who can do other work on it. I need someone who can come to me at the moment. Under shade cover and flat concrete surface. $100 listed in advert. But I understand it will change once you quote it. PrePurchase Mechanical Inspection I’m looking for an experienced heavy vehicle/bus mechanic to inspect a Hino RG230 bus in Sydney before I purchase it. I’m currently in Sydney and need someone who can go over the bus thoroughly and give me an honest assessment of whether it is mechanically sound enough to drive from Sydney to Brisbane. Please check as much as possible, including: - Engine condition and starting/running - Oil, coolant and any signs of contamination - Radiator/cooling system - Turbo and intake system - Transmission and clutch - Brakes and air system - Steering and suspension - Diff/drive train - Wheel bearings, tyres and rims - Leaks underneath - Electrical system and batteries - Dash warning lights/fault codes - Exhaust/smoke - Any obvious structural/chassis issues - Signs of overheating If possible, I’d also like fault codes scanned, a road test and an inspection underneath the bus. In particular the car owner said ‘The radio works, as do parking sensors, reversing camera etc but you cannot connect mobile via Bluetooth. My mechanic believes it is a fuse’.
