What does a mechanic service usually include?
Mechanics are skilled in nearly all aspects of keeping your car maintained, serviced, and repaired, so it’s roadworthy and efficient to run. The exact process during your service will depend on how your mechanic prefers to work and the type of tasks they’re doing, like:
Minor service
This is the most basic engine service a mechanic provides, but it can make a huge difference in whether or not your car can operate efficiently. Then checking fluid levels, windscreen wipers, windows, mirrors, steering, suspension, radiator, fan belts, and tyre pressure. Finally, it may also include maintaining/replacing oil filters, hoses, belts, tyres, and wheel alignment. Your mechanic will finish off by stamping your logbook to record the services completed, which can help maintain your car’s resale value.
Roadworthy certificate or pink slip
A roadworthy certificate or pink slip is a specific vehicle check that’s conducted to ensure your car is in a roadworthy condition and can be operated safely. In some states, it’s required when selling a car or may be required each year to confirm your vehicle is safe for registration purposes. A mechanic will check off a list of predetermined items to verify that your car meets a minimum safety standard set out by your state government. They’ll focus on safety, checking things like tyres, brakes, steering, suspension, rust or damage, seatbelts, windows, lights, and your windscreen.
Major and minor repairs

Hey, I’ve mostly finished installing an AINAVI X6 (13.1-inch) head unit in my Toyota RAV4, but I’ve hit a wall with the digital integration and need a pro to finish it off. The Main Issues: CANBUS Handshake: The Raise (RZC) CANBUS box is connected, but the head unit shows "Protocol box version: Unknown." Because of this, the steering wheel controls and vehicle data aren't working. I've tried multiple codes/settings, but it won't "talk" to the car. Reverse Camera: The factory camera is currently showing a grey/black screen. I need the 6V/12V trigger checked and the correct video format (AHD vs NTSC) set in the factory menu once the CANBUS is live. What I need: > Someone experienced with Android Head Units (Topway/AINAVI/Teyes) and Toyota CANBUS protocols. I am located in Burwood, but I can drive to you if you have a shop or a workspace. The car is fully operational and the battery is charged. Looking for a quick turnaround today if possible. Please let me know your experience with these specific units!
