I am keen on a quote for fill and surface covering for around the house and a small parking area. Fill: I was going to get this delivered free, but the access down the side of the house is 2200mm so too narrow for the truck. Looking at cheapest but appropriate option for 10 tonne fill delivered in place down the back of a house - filling in behind retaining wall before granny fence is built and granny flat construction begins. Potentially filling sand only and some top soil on top. Some of the top area will be turfed. Seek you thoughts. The house is to rent out, not for me to live in and renovate as a forever home for now. However want to make it nice. there is old concrete down the house side, and dirt up the other side of the house which will be granny flat access. After much research it appears to improve the look and use of the property but without spending too much, compacted road base, topped with crushed granite on top. Specifically thinking, 130 squares meter crushed granite over compacted DGB20. Can we mix 3–5% cement through the top layer before compacting? What would be cost difference to not do that, and leave it as compacted road base/granite and expect occasional top-ups every few years? Keen on your overall recommendation and quote please.
