What do tool repair services include?

Even the most expensive hand and power tools are bound to wear and age. In such crucial times that you need the best-rated tool repair service near you, look no further than Airtasker.

Our tool repair service is done by experienced technicians or mechanics who either specialise in specific construction tool repairs or a variety of power tools. The exact process depends on the complexity of your tools, the severity of the damage, and the fixes they need. Booking with us for the first time? Here are some of the power tool repair services that you can book from us:

Drill repair

No construction or housework tool kit will be complete without a drill or drilling machine. Some of the most usual problems faced with drills include a slipping drill bit, a broken chuck, a dull cutting edge, and more. If your drill tends to run intermittently, you don't have to replace the whole thing. Instead, book a drill repair near you through Airtasker, and our handymen can come right away to sharpen, adjust, and repair the drill, or even replace specific parts.

Construction cutting tools

Construction cutters, chainsaws, saw blades, and grinders are used to remove pieces of concrete, ceramic tiles, wood, and metal, among others. They are usually made of cutting blade material such as diamond, carbon steel, titanium, and ceramics.

Due to their extremely sharp edges, it is safer to let the experts handle the repair, sharpening, and part replacements of these heavy-duty cutting tools. Apart from tool sharpening, we can also remove corrosion, replace blades, and apply lubricants. We can even re-coat or re-polish substrates for durability and lasting sharpness.

Lawn care tools

Most households nowadays are equipped with lawn care power tools to make lawn maintenance and repair easier and faster. Some of the most standard tools include a lawnmower, string trimmer or edger, electric spreader, and leaf blowers. In case any of these tools started to show any defect or signs of wearing, our tool repair experts can immediately come to your house on request and perform all the necessary repairs so you can use them again as soon as possible.

Makita/ Bosch power tool repair

You'll also find plenty of tool repair experts on our platform who specialise in repairing most Bosch or Makita power tools. Just like how it's done in their repair centres, they can also troubleshoot problems, provide manufacturer-approved repair solutions, and also inspect them afterwards. What's more, they can get it all done in the convenience of your home, and very often, within the same day as well!

US120v gyprock sander ( ELECTRICAL TOOL REPAIRER )

$120

Miami QLD, Australia

16th Jul 2021

Ok, So I bout a new gyprock sander, This one being an automatic vacuum Sander. Most gyprock sanders need a vacuum attached too them too extract the dust. This one has a vac built into the sander head, wich extracts the dust threw the hose into a bag that you strap over your shoulder. Did some research, most of these types of sanders are shit, Weak suction, Found one rated in the states very highly. So it’s US120volt with us plug. So finally found a voltage converter small enough with enough output wattage too run it. The converter is adjustable from zero too 240v But I can’t get it stay at a constant 120 output voltage. Only used it once. And it cut out, because the converter kept bouncing up and down between 50 and 240v So obviously overloaded it. Had a guy at tool repair shop, Said it was out of his depth, And didn’t know what too do. Said he pulled out the brushes found they had nearly burnt out. I don’t have replacement brushes but I have filed down similar type brushes too fit into other tools before myself. So what I need is a proper evaluation on the sander. 1. Is the motor completely destroyed and past the point of repair? ( it does still currently work, but cuts in and out) 2. Is the voltage converter I bought just a piece of shit? If so do you have a decent one I could buy or know where I can purchase one? I’ve tried jaycar, dicksmith, battery world, ebay, all over the net. Either they don’t stock them, or wattage not big enough, Or just too big and too heavy. 3. Does it just need new brushes? 4. Anyone able too rewind the moter And make it run on straight AU240v And change plug to AU.?? If you can help I’m happy too drop off the sander too your location No time frame or time limit, Basically anytime within the next month is fine, Happy too negotiate price of repair or price of new parts. Thanks.
