What do fan installers do?
Even if you know how to install ceiling fan wiring, the installation must be done by a licensed electrician to avoid the danger of electrocution. If you're having more than one fan installed on the same day, each additional ceiling fan installation will usually cost less than the first.

Ceiling fan replacement
If you're replacing an older ceiling fan or your room already has a ceiling outlet, the electrician can complete a like-for-like ceiling fan installation. This usually takes less than an hour and involves removing the existing fan, assembling and installing the new fan and connecting the wiring. New connection
If you don't already have a ceiling fan and there is not a suitable connection in the ceiling, this will need to be set up before your ceiling fan can be installed. If your ceiling fan isn't working properly or is making noises and you can't fix it yourself, hiring an electrician for ceiling fan repair will cost less than buying and installing a new fan – unless the fault can't be repaired and you need a replacement.
