What: Experienced trim carpenter to install wall moulding we've already bought: a chair rail about 1m from the floor with picture-frame boxes below it, in 4 standard-size bedrooms and a 6m hallway. Ceilings are 3m. Each bedroom has a wardrobe wall, so it's three walls of moulding per bedroom. We have a plan for each room and I've included a before and after example from one of the bedrooms so you can see what we’re going for. All rooms will be very similar and so will the hallway- only needs work on the bottom part of wall! Supplied: All moulding, pre-primed. No painting, filling or caulking needed; our painter will do that after you. Walls: Plaster over brick. What we need: - Set out every wall with a laser level: chair rail dead level, boxes square, margins consistent to the plan (same gap to corners, skirting, rail and door architraves). - Cut and build the boxes on site: tight 45° mitres, scarf joints on any long runs. - Fix with a high-grab construction adhesive plus an 18-gauge brad nailer using short (25–32mm) brads. The brads only clamp the piece while the adhesive sets and longer brads will hit the brick. - Scan for cables before nailing and keep brads away from the lines above, below and beside switches and power points. - Protect the oak floors and do all cutting outside. Tools: You supply your own mitre saw, brad nailer and laser level, plus brads and adhesive. Please include a fixed price for the whole job and photos of box moulding you've installed before. Happy to have you inspect first. We'd like to start on Tuesday 29/9 if possible and finish no later than Friday 2/10.

We have solid wood dining table and matching set of chairs that we would like to convert to a book and cd case. The dining set consists of one dining table (2m long x 1m wide) and six matching wooden chairs, all constructed from solid, painted recycled boat timber. Because this wood has a beautiful history, we want to fully preserve the existing painted timber faces. We are looking for a maker who can clean-cut the components and seal only the raw exposed edges, without stripping or painting over the original character. Our required design is a low, wide, open-shelving unit with strong, clean geometric edges. We would like to use the table top, legs, and chair timber to meet the following specifications: * Total Outer Dimensions: 200cm wide × 100cm high × 30cm deep. * Configuration: A 50/50 vertical split creating two 100cm-wide bays. * Left Bay (Books): 2 internal shelves creating 3 rows (approx. 30.3cm high each) to hold heavy books. * Right Bay (CDs): 5 internal shelves creating 6 rows (approx. 14.6cm high each) for CD storage. * CD Infill Specification: Because the unit is 30cm deep, we require a 15cm deep false back/infill installed inside the CD rows. This will prevent the CDs from sliding back and keep them flush with the front edge. * Joinery: Clean, seamless joints (such as internal dowels or dowel/Domino joints) to maintain the strong, monolithic silhouette of the piece.
