Dominic provided an excellent assessment of the repairs required to my headphones and a proposal for repair. Unfortunately the time frame for parts to arrive was too long for me. I am confident if time permitted, Dominic would have done a great job fixing them.

Top Headphone Repair related questions

The kind of repair would depend on the problem. Identify what needs to be fixed, such as a broken hinge or lack of audio in one ear. Once you’ve identified the problem, you can do DIY Sony headphone repair or take your device to a shop and hope it gets fixed soon. If you’re in a rush and need your headphones for school or work, you can request a Tasker and have your headphones repaired right at home.

There are quite a number of tips for fixing common iPhone jack problems, such as cleaning it regularly, removing stuck objects using toothpicks or paperclips, or simply restarting your phone. If you don’t fancy sticking sharp objects into your phone, you can request a Tasker instead. They can handle headphone jack repair for most devices. Plus it’s a lot safer than attempting to fix electrical devices yourself. So save time and your hard-earned gadgets - request a repairman via Airtasker today!

There are many ways to do this: One quick fix is to use old stockings or tights to cover up the flaking headphone pads without affecting the sound quality too much. Or, you could buy replacement headphone pads and install them yourself or have it done at a shop. A third option is to request a headphone repair specialist on Airtasker and have them recommend a solution that fits your needs and budget.

You can find headphone repair service right here on Airtasker! To request a headphone repair specialist, tap the “Post a task” button and fill out the form. Don’t forget to indicate your headphones model! Once you’re done, tap “Get quotes” and wait for offers. Take a few minutes to evaluate offers based on budget, customer reviews, and your needs. What does a headphone repair service include?

Airtasker’s headphone repair service covers repair for various headphone issues, such as headphone padding repair, headphone plug service, and multiple brands like Beats, Bose, and Sony. Though the specifics will depend on the Tasker you work with, here’s what you can expect from a typical headphone repair service on Airtasker:

Tools and equipment for headphone repair

Your Tasker arrives with a special headphones tool kit. This may include a precision utility knife, wire stripper, multimeter, and even a soldering iron. In some cases, they may even need a soldering station, so it’s best to prepare an area for your Tasker to work comfortably.

It’s also worth mentioning that some headphone brands may have parts that are specific to them. So whether you’re looking for Beats, Bose, or Sony headphone repair, make sure your task post indicates your brand and model so that the Tasker can prepare the right tools before your appointment.

Headphone assessment and troubleshooting

Once the Tasker is ready, they’ll check your headphones as well as the device you’re using with them. This could be your computer, phone, or tablet. In some cases, it may be a problem with the computer’s audio system (which they may or may not be able to fix). They’ll identify what’s causing your headphone to go wonky, then proceed to the next step.

Headphone repair

Your Tasker then repairs the malfunctioning parts of your headphones and replaces any parts that are beyond repair. This can include putting in new headphone padding, reconnecting and soldering broken wires, or replacing the plug. If your headphones are beyond fixing, they may recommend that you get a new device instead.

In some cases, it may be more affordable to get a new pair instead of paying for a ton of replacement parts and labour. Feel free to ask your Tasker what they think of your headphones, and if salvaging them is still worth it.

Headphone repair isn’t the only tech-related task we can help you with. On Airtasker, you can find specialists for various things, like laptop repair or even video editing. And if your computer troubles have caused a lot of downtime at work, you might consider outsourcing some of your business’ needs the next time you run into any tech problems.

Solder/Repair Asus Rog Delta Headphones Jack – Reliable Fix Needed

$40

Eltham VIC 3095, Australia

9th Nov 2025

Hey, I'm looking for someone experienced to repair my Asus Rog Delta gaming headphones. The problem is at the jack connection where it plugs into the headphones – the audio cuts in and out unless I wiggle or pull on it, which is extremely frustrating (especially when I play Valorant). I’ve tried to get it RMA’d but Asus requires the original receipt, which I no longer have. I’ve been told by a previous repairer that the wires inside might not be straightforward because it’s a gaming headset, so please only offer if you know your stuff and have done similar jobs before. If you can also replace the jack or socket at the headphones, great – the main thing is getting a durable and tough resoldered connection, not just a temporary fix. Microphone is built into the headphones, so ideally the mic will work after repair too. The area looks fine with only slight fraying, nothing too major. Happy to provide pics if you want. Being cheap on price is important, but I value skill and creativity to get the job done right. Bonus if you’re near 3095 Eltham, Victoria, but I’m happy to come to you anywhere in Melbourne or organise low-cost shipping and return post (e.g. $10 postage using return-to-sender to keep costs down). If this sounds like your kind of job, please let me know your experience and your quote. Thanks!

Fix my headphone axle

$50

North Melbourne VIC, Australia

7th Nov 2025

I’m reaching out for advice about my JBL headphones, which I bought last year. The plastic hinge connecting the ear cup to the headband has broken apart, so now the ear piece spins freely and feels loose. I didn’t drop or mishandle them, they were left on a chair overnight, and I noticed the break the next morning. It seems the swivel joint has split into two parts. Could you please let me know if this can be repaired or if replacement parts are available?
