Hi, I need a qualified mobile mechanic or auto electrician to replace a leaky external fuel pump on my 1980 Honda Accord (carburetted).The original factory frame-mounted pump under the car is weeping fuel, so I am converting it to a universal, low-pressure inline pump setup. I have already purchased the conversion parts—you just need to bring your tools, standard wiring consumables, and expertise. What I have ready for you: -New PAT EFP-085 (Pierburg) universal low-pressure external fuel pump kit. Premium 8mm ID (SAE J30R9) fuel injection hose. Two (2) brass step-down hose adapters (1/4" to 5/16") to bridge the pump to the car's factory 6mm lines. Four (4) matching metal fuel hose clamps. What you will need to do/bring: Safely drain/pinch lines, unbolt the old leaky external pump from the chassis rail, and mount the new universal pump using its rubber-insulated bracket. Plumb the new pump into the factory lines using the supplied 8mm hose, brass adapters, and clamps. Snip the original factory plug, strip the power/ground wires, and crimp on two small ring/eyelet terminals (please bring these with you) to secure them to the new pump's threaded terminal studs. Heat-shrink the connections to seal them from road grime. Cycle the ignition to prime the carburetor and check thoroughly for leaks under pressure.

Hi! I’m looking for a mechanic or someone experienced with cars who would be willing to come to my home in Coorparoo and have a look at my 2010 Hyundai i30 CRDi diesel automatic. The car has 286,609 km and was a reliable car for me for years, but it’s currently not running and the rego expired in July 2026. It previously had an oil leak which ended up getting oil into the starter motor. The starter motor has since been replaced, and I have also put in a brand-new Century battery from Supercheap Auto (receipt available), but the car is still not starting/getting power. At this stage I really just need someone knowledgeable to have a look and give me an idea of what the problem might be, whether it could potentially be a reasonably simple/affordable repair, and whether the car is worth spending any more money on or if I should just sell it as-is. I’m a single mum with two young daughters and really need to finally sort out my car for us, as Ubers are just far too expensive. I unfortunately don’t have a big budget to keep replacing parts without knowing what’s actually wrong with it. Offering around $50 for someone to come out, have a look and give me their opinion/advice. I’m not expecting repairs to be included for cheap price I’m requesting — just an initial assessment.
