Oil and Filter Assessment
Upon arriving, your mechanic will first inspect your vehicle before draining the old engine oil and replacing the filter. This process involves starting your car and warming up your motor oil. Then, they will lift your vehicle to locate the drain plug and place an oil pan underneath while draining out the old motor oil. Â
Oil and Filter Replacement
After draining out the old engine oil, your mechanic will proceed with removing the old filter using a wrench. Then, they will put a small amount of engine oil to the gasket to avoid leaks. Once they replace the oil filter with a new one, they will pour in the correct grade and amount of oil suited for your vehicle using a funnel to avoid leaks.
Final Inspection and Testing
After placing the new oil and filter, your mechanic will do a final inspection by starting the engine and letting it run it for a few minutes. This step will help ensure that the new motor oil is circulating smoothly and that there are no signs of leakage around the drain plug and filter. Afterwards, they will insert a dipstick inside the tank to ensure that the oil has the correct reading.

I have new oil and filter but to complete the oil change I think the car needs to be lifted to get under car access. Under car access is required to remove the under engine cover, which will then give access to the engine sump plug. The oil filter is accessible from above. Can drive to you.

Oil cooler replacement on a Mercedes Benz C200 Petrol Turbo Wagon 2010 W204 model. I have the new oil cooler part. At this stage my car does not seem to have any coolant that has mixed in the engine oil system, only a slight oil leak from the oil cooler seals. This job requires removal of the air filter box and air intake manifold on passenger side of the engine - accessible via the top of the engine, then the removal of the starter motor best accessed via underneath the car. Here is an 18 minute, highly informative YouTube video of an American guy replacing the oil filter on a 2015 C250 model Mercedes Benz - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SYPB7i2VbY - the engine configuration and oil cooler parts are identical for my C200, so this video is a perfect mechanical guide of what the job requires and the tools involved. This mechanic did the job in 4.5 to 5 hours. After finishing the job, he topped up the coolant levels. I have a single car garage at my place if the job needs to be done at my place, or can deliver to mechanic garage
