What does a mechanic service usually include?
Mechanics are skilled in nearly all aspects of keeping your car maintained, serviced, and repaired, so it’s roadworthy and efficient to run. The exact process during your service will depend on how your mechanic prefers to work and the type of tasks they’re doing, like:
Minor service
This is the most basic engine service a mechanic provides, but it can make a huge difference in whether or not your car can operate efficiently. Then checking fluid levels, windscreen wipers, windows, mirrors, steering, suspension, radiator, fan belts, and tyre pressure. Finally, it may also include maintaining/replacing oil filters, hoses, belts, tyres, and wheel alignment. Your mechanic will finish off by stamping your logbook to record the services completed, which can help maintain your car’s resale value.
Roadworthy certificate or pink slip
A roadworthy certificate or pink slip is a specific vehicle check that’s conducted to ensure your car is in a roadworthy condition and can be operated safely. In some states, it’s required when selling a car or may be required each year to confirm your vehicle is safe for registration purposes. A mechanic will check off a list of predetermined items to verify that your car meets a minimum safety standard set out by your state government. They’ll focus on safety, checking things like tyres, brakes, steering, suspension, rust or damage, seatbelts, windows, lights, and your windscreen.
Major and minor repairs

I had been away for two months and my car battery went flat while I was away. I’ve had it jump started and it’s fine, but then when I was driving it’s come up saying transmission issue. It’s automatic, but when I’m driving, it won’t change up gears. I’ve never had any issues with my transmission before. I’ve done some research and it says that it can just be when the cars battery goes flat that the codes need resetting and I need a OBD2 tool to clear the stores diagnostics. I need someone to come to my house and fix it if possible.
Honestly this has to be one of the best AirTasker experiences I’ve ever had! Nick went above and beyond to help me and even gave me some tips to help the situation if it was to ever arise again.
