I’m looking for a motor cross mechanic expert on the Sunshone Coast to help a friend rebuild a “2 Stroke KTM 85 SX motor” History of what has happened so far… Rider was in fourth .. under power .. then dropped down into second to hit corner … as he did the bike went from sounding like a 2 stroke .. to sounding like a 4 stroke .. then nothing … the bike could be pushed in neutral no problem .. but kick start / motor seemed seized. Bike was then parked up.. and then a couple of days later .. when went to work on it.. (checked a couple of basic things as per MX mates direction) .. the kick start / engine moved thru the cycle without problem .. so … we “fired it up” .. it started .. and ran … but with a horrible rattle .. so we shut it down immediately Since then we have drained oil .. coolant .. had top end off .. and most other things off to find the issue .. expecting to see broken metal pieces somewhere .. but nothing yet So now we are looking for someone to help us find out what’s wrong.
