Front: Brake pads are getting low and the rotors have a lip around the outside edge. These will need to be replaced soon. Rear: Pads and rotors are fine at this stage. Suspension: Front upper control arm ball joints are split and have no grease. Rear tie rods split on both ends (left and right). Rear sway bar links are very worn (left and right). Rear upper control arm ball joints both split. Rear lower control arms worn out. Left-hand front rim is buckled and will need repair or replacement. Differential bushes are starting to split – these can be monitored and reinspected at the next service

This used to be my daily driver but has been garages for four years. Still registered, and am keen to get it driving again. Looking for a skilled mechanic with an understanding and appreciation of these old beasts. Tyres are flat, battery will be dead, but am looking to get it up and moving to then determine larger needs it might have to bring it back to life.

1974 Jaguar S2 XJ6, since pulling and reinstalling the engine over a few months, have lost spark in my ignition system Distributer is a Lucas- Constant Energy Ignition - 45DM6 This system is paired with an Amplifier and a vacuum retard STORY** Car was running well before full engine rebuild. Since then I am unable to get spark. I have replaced the coil with a new one and have the correct resistance. I have 12V on both positive and negative of coil. This ignition system uses a 6 point magnetic star to disrupt the circuit in the distributer as opposed to traditional points. When short circuiting the primary low voltage system using a test light between the negative coil terminal and (either the positive or negative) wire between the dizzy and the amp... I get spark at a plug. So there is obviously power getting to the primary low voltage circuit, and when I short the low voltage circuit (and with the dizzy arm at a plug) I get spark at the plug, so the coil and high voltage circuit works, meaning that what is at fault is a component that interrupts the low voltage circuit (which is what fires the coil high voltage circuit). So either the magnetic star in the distributor isn't correctly registering to interrupt the circuit to fire the coil OR the Amp isn't working (which to my understanding is what actually breaks the circuit when it receives the signal from the magnetic star 'points'). The amp I've read can be repaired and I have seen and will provide a wiring diagram for the amp. If you're an auto electrician or are familiar with distributers then what I'm saying should make sense and there might be an easy fix somewhere. Auto-electrics not my strength, I'd rather give the task to someone more experienced who can go through and test, identify and possibly repair and save myself time and having to buy a new $500 AMP (if that's the issue) Located CARLINGFORD 2118

install upgraded infotainment unit in 2016 jaguar f-type coupe. system is plug n play no soldering connect and click. the issue is I'm a big man and just can't do this myself... 😕 jaguar experience preferred... if you are capable with car AV installs this should be doable for you. I have a video or two of the install on YouTube and have removed the old screen and know where to connect the new harness etc and its add ons like DAB radio etc. a front camera also to be installed and this I am unsure about as it will need to go through the firewall I imagine. the panels are easy to pop off to run the harness cables but getting them up behind the unit looks tight . tricky. I'm 6 foot 3 and solid so my back hurts trying to do this install .. will provide lunch etc. please tell me a price as I must budget.
