What does a housekeeping service include?

Housekeeping services can include one-off services or regular domestic tasks (daily, weekly, or fortnightly), from cleaning and cooking to even home maintenance. Your housekeeper will bring along all the products and equipment they need to clean and maintain your home - all you need to do is tell them what you need done. Here’s how they can help:

Cleaning

The most common housekeeping service involves cleaning. This could include general cleaning, like vacuumingmoppingdusting, and bathroom cleaning. Or it might include detail cleaning tasks like couchcurtainfloorfridge, and rug cleaning. Depending on the number of tasks you’d like your housekeeper to complete, they may clean for just an hour, or up to the entire day. Your housekeeper will discuss a time that’s convenient for you, the tasks you need done, and the timeframe it should take to complete these tasks. If needed, they can bring their own cleaning supplies, like a vacuum cleaner and feather duster.

Organising and tidying

Many housekeepers offer professional organising services, where they help organise and tidy all areas of your home. This includes desks, filing cabinets, stationery, linen, wardrobes, toys, kitchen cupboards, garage interiors, and more. They’ll pull out all the items, organise them by category, and help you choose what you should keep, donate, or bin. They’ll also help by recommending suitable storage solutions to help you keep your home tidy for longer.

Cooking

Some housekeepers are available to help with cooking in your home. They might prepare a few snacks, or help prep several meals ahead of time so you don’t have to worry about cooking. Your housekeeper will present menu and recipe options for you to choose from and use your ingredient and kitchen supplies to cook everything in your kitchen. Once they’re done, they’ll store the freshly cooked food (with heating instructions) and clean up any mess.

Laundry

Washing and ironing starting to pile up? Housekeepers can help by putting on loads of washing, hanging clothes, loading the dryer, folding washing, ironing, and even putting it away. They’ll check the care labels to ensure appropriate washing/drying methods are used before they start the process. With some extra help, you’ll be all caught up on the laundry in no time.

Home maintenance

Many housekeepers are skilled in basic household maintenance tasks. But if they’re unable to do the job themselves, they’ll help organise and oversee skilled contractors who can help do repairs and maintenance in and around your home.

Need to have recycle taken away

$200

Bardon QLD, Australia

21st Nov 2025

We've just moved into a house and need someone to take the recycle away including the contents of the recycle bin. The contents are mainly boxes from moving but also some bottles/general recycle. There is a steep driveway and you will not be able to drive down and get back up, so parking is at the top, the most of the time this will take is probably just the walk up and down, but as a bonus you'll get a great leg workout! =) See attached pictures for the amount of recycle and the driveway. Any questions feel free to ask. Cheers!

Nice to work with, great communication and able to complete my task with very short notice. Thank you!

Help me reorganize my apartment

$80

Albion QLD, Australia

12th Oct 2025

I have recently downsized, but still have too much ‘stuff’. We have kurbside garbage pick up in a couple of weeks and I want to throw out a lot of things. So I’ve been sorting and have made quite a mess. I need help as I have some mobility issues - and I’ve overdone it lately. All it is, is putting some things away - putting other things in my car to go to charity shop - and helping me get things in order. I imagine it’s about 2 hours of work.

Izzy was amazing. I would highly recommend her without hesitation. She was more than helpful and as I was open to suggestions, she offered some good ideas. I’m an older woman who is downsizing and needed to make a lot of decisions about whether to keep or donate items. She was so respectful. Izzy worked hard and went above and beyond. Thanks Izzy!

Downsizing Help – Pack, Sort & Move!

$350

Spring Hill QLD, Australia

10th Oct 2025

My name is Kristy. I’m moving into a studio space just below my 3-bedroom townhouse and need a calm, practical person to help me pack up, declutter, and make decisions about what to keep, donate, sell, or throw out. I’ve got a lot going on right now — my father is very unwell, and there’s a lot of family stress and organising happening — so I’m looking for someone experienced who can take the lead and give me direction. I have a bit of decision fatigue and just need a helping hand (and a clear head!) to get through this process efficiently. I’m a kind and easygoing person, normally very organised, but at the moment I just need someone who can help guide the process, keep things moving, and make it feel manageable. Ideally, you’ll have experience with decluttering, packing, or organising moves, and you’ll be comfortable helping someone who is happy to help do the physical work but needs a bit of structure and motivation to get it done. I believe this could be a 1-2 day process. I’m unsure on pricing so ideally you help me with a full day rate or half day rate and we can go from there. Thanks Kristy!

Justine was great! I was very stuck trying to starting packing up my life and move and she was just what I needed to get things happening. Thanks so much for your help!
