The KickAss kit is designed as a plug-and-play system and comes with everything required, but I’d really value input from someone experienced to ensure the layout, mounting, and overall finish is done properly. I’ve already started planning the layout and identified the best location for the battery in the rear cargo area. I’m after someone who can help refine the setup and carry out a clean, professional install. Hey there, I have a 2003 Mercedes Sprinter and I’m currently experiencing some issues with the van’s electrical system. To keep it brief: fuse #7 (under the steering wheel), which is connected to the air circulation system and the horn, kept blowing. I replaced it, but it continued to blow. At one point, I temporarily installed a higher amp fuse so I could start the van as I was stuck in the middle of the desert. The van did start, but the higher amp fuse eventually burned out as well. Once I got home, I identified the issue: a cable near the horn was exposed and touching the bare metal of the van, causing the fuse to blow. I temporarily fixed it with tape, and replaced the fuse with the correct rating. The van now starts fine, and no fuses are blowing anymore. However, I’m now experiencing the following issues: Some lights are dim (likely need replacing) The horn is not working The radio is not working I’m looking for someone who can properly troubleshoot the root cause and help repair/rework the wiring. Here’s what I’d like help with: Properly insulating and redoing the exposed cables (I currently have a temporary tape fix on 3 wires) Repairing the battery cable terminal (the screw for the negative terminal has broken) Diagnosing and fixing the underlying electrical issue Replacing any faulty lights I need this to pass a Roadworthy Certificate (RWC), as the van is currently registered interstate. I have some basic electrical knowledge and am happy to assist if needed. I can also remove the dashboard beforehand to speed things up and allow you to start troubleshooting right away. I’ve attached some photos for reference. I’m quite flexible with timing, and I’d appreciate a fixed quote if possible, as I’m currently on a budget. This is a USDM to AUDM tail light conversion, so the brake and indicator signals need to be combined correctly for the sequential indicators to function. The tail lights are already installed and the wiring is accessible in the trunk. Just need the wiring completed so running lights, brake lights and sequential indicators all work properly. I own a 2015 Ford Mondeo. It was picked up from a panel beater yesterday (Saturday) after front end repairs were done. At the time, the battery was flat. It was jump started. It later died again (after being driven for about 45 minutes). The battery was so flat that the doors would not lock. RACV came out and jump started it. The alternator tested fine. It was then driven for about 1.25 hours. After which, it was put onto a 240V AGM battery charger. After a few hours, the battery charger (used before without issue) started overheating. The battery this morning is dead - it won't even turn over. I believe there may be a short circuit of some description and before I go off guns blazing to the repairer, I need an objective opinion - from an expert). The budget is a placeholder, since I don't know what to expect!
