We’re looking for a qualified tax accountant for an ongoing engagement, initially to assist with BAS for my partner, who drives for Uber. The first task is to complete his BAS, but ideally we want someone we can continue working with for: * Ongoing BAS preparation/lodgement * Annual tax returns * Reviewing previous accounting work, as we have some concerns and would like clarification * Assistance with previous overdue lodgements/penalties * Tax advice for an Uber/rideshare driver, including deductions and record keeping * Potentially assisting with my tax/accounting in future I work as an academic, and with our family circumstances changing, we’d also value advice on how best to manage our tax affairs as a couple (or separately). We’re particularly interested in proactive tax planning, including legitimate deductions and tax-effective decisions we can plan for in advance, such as expenses, purchases or arrangements relevant to our circumstances. We’re looking for a reliable accountant interested in a long-term relationship, not just a one-off BAS. Please include your qualifications, Uber/rideshare experience, whether you’re a registered tax agent, and whether you provide tax planning/advisory services. Sydney preferred, but open to online. Must be a good communicator who can explain things in simple terms.
