Hey, I need two ceiling fans with lights to be installed replacing existing lights. As well as discounting a hardwired oven and installing a new PowerPoint for the new oven. These are the two main jobs. I am also interested how difficult it is to change the wiring of our living room light which are installed in the roof. They currently are controlled with one switch and we would like them to be controlled with seperate switches so we can exchange one with a fan as well. I am not sure what the general cost is so please send through you quote.

When using the remote to turn on our Arlec ceiling fan, the fan doesn’t start and beeps twice. At first when the issue started occurring, it would start and then stop again repeatedly but now it won’t start at all. When turning on the light it switches on completely fine, it’s just the fan that won’t turn on. I’ve done some investigating on google for answers and the most likely explanation that came up was this: “With Arlec ceiling fans, this combination of symptoms—where the unit beeps responsively to commands but the fan itself remains dead—is a classic, known behavior pointing to a faulty internal remote receiver module (specifically the controller unit tucked inside the top canopy) or a dead starting capacitor. The electronics are registering your command (the beep), but the switching circuit inside the receiver is broken and failing to pass that physical electric current down into the motor windings.” This is a possible fix google said: “Replace the Internal Remote Kit: An electrician can drop the top canopy and swap out the broken receiver block. Arlec sells replacement modules such as the Arlec Remote Control Ceiling Fan Kit or the Arlec Grid Connect Smart Kit at retailers like Bunnings Warehouse.” If this is the problem, I can buy the kit at Bunnings and we would just need it installed on the fan. If interested, please message me on here.

Hi! I’m looking for a licensed electrician to help with two jobs at home: 1. Check and fix approximately 10 LED ceiling lights Please identify the faults and repair or replace what’s needed. After visiting and checking the lights, please provide a list and quote for any parts required. I may buy them myself or pay you separately to supply them if the price is reasonable. Please confirm costs with me before purchasing. 2. Assemble and install two bedside wall lights The wiring is already inside the walls, and the dimmer switches are fitted. All light fittings and mounting parts shown in the photos are available. For each light, I’d like to use the light fitting and cable from one model with the wall-mounting arm/bracket from another. Please check compatibility, assemble and install one on each side of the bed, and test both. This should hopefully be straightforward. I’ve allocated $150 of the total payment to the bedside lights. If this part can’t be completed, please deduct $150 from the total, as I’d like to pay only for work completed. Thanks for understanding. Thanks! Ryan

1. Google Nest Floodlight Camera * Install Google Nest wired floodlight camera outside apartment. * We already have the camera. * Hoping power can be taken from the existing external air-conditioning unit/circuit nearby, if suitable and compliant. 2. Replace 5 existing ceiling oyster lights Electrician to supply and install: * Bathroom – 1 × Click 10W 260mm IP44 Tri-Colour LED Oyster Ceiling Light (Bunnings I/N 0661509). Please set to 3000K warm white. * Rest of apartment – 4 × Brilliant 30cm Tri-Colour Dimmable Value LED Oyster Ceiling Lights (Bunnings I/N 0374071). Please set all to 3000K warm white. 3. Install dimmers * Install compatible LED dimmers for the 4 Brilliant oyster lights. * Three locations are single switches. * One location currently has two switches, so we need one normal switch + one dimmer on that plate. * Electrician to supply the appropriate dimmer mechanisms/plates. * No dimmer required in the bathroom. The bathroom light currently shares its switch/circuit with a separate exhaust fan, so we’re happy for the new 10W warm-white oyster and exhaust fan to continue switching on together. We will supply the Google Nest Floodlight Camera. Electrician to please supply the 5 specified oyster lights, 4 compatible LED dimmers and any required switch plates/electrical hardware. Photos show the existing lights, switches, bathroom and proposed external camera location.
