Hi, I need an experienced handyman to safely remove a fallen TV antenna from my house. Current situation: The antenna base has detached from the roof/fascia and is currently hanging in the tree branches, held only by the coaxial cable. I do not watch local TV, so I just need it permanently removed. Required work: 1. Safely cut the cable and completely remove the antenna, bracket, and any loose wiring. 2. Crucial: Apply waterproof silicone sealant to the exposed screw holes on the roof/eaves to prevent any future water leaks. 3. Take away and dispose of the old antenna parts. Important note: This is a two-story house. You will need to bring an extension ladder tall enough to reach the roofline safely, along with your own tools and waterproof silicone sealant. A couple of years ago I had an tv antenna outlet installed by an electrician. It was on the other side of a wall with an existing outlet. The signal quality has always been dubious. Upon removing the plate it’s obvious that the crimping job was second rate and done without the right tools. The coax fell out in my hands.
