Your seamstress or tailor is skilled in working with textiles, but especially clothing, to create, repair, and alter clothes. Here are some of the most popular alteration services and what you can expect when you book them:
Sewing
Need some custom sewing work to create a design from scratch or custom-fit to your size? Hire a seamstress or dressmaker to create or customise your dress or garment with great attention to detail. They’ll start by measuring your shape and size with a soft tape measure to ensure the perfect fit. They’ll consult with you on designs and fabrics, before choosing or customising a pattern and cutting out the pieces. They’ll sew your garment or dress, taking care to finish off any edges with an overlocking stitch. Formal wear alterations
When you want to look your best, it’s so important that your clothing is tailored to perfectly fit. Whether you need bridal alterations, school graduation alterations, wedding dress alterations, corporate wear alterations, or suit alterations nearby your location, a professional seamstress can help. They’ll take your exact measurements and then ask you to try on the outfit or dress, ideally with the shoes you plan to wear. I have a long maxi skirt that needs to be altered as it’s too wide. It’s double lined and due to the slit and the pocket at the back I believe it’s would have to be taken in on each side. A small number of sequins (probably < 10) have fallen off in a small patch on the front, so I would please love to have these reattached too (with the left overs sequins from the shortened straps).
