Ongoing Work We are looking for an experienced dressmaker to construct Irish dancing dresses. These are highly detailed performance costumes, so strong sewing skills, attention to detail, and experience with fitted bodices and structured skirts is essential. Ideally, you would be capable of creating patterns from measurements (princess bodice or embroidery bodice styles), however this is not compulsory. Guidance, templates and support will be provided for the first couple of dresses to ensure you are confident with our expectations and finish. Each dress will include: Fitted bodice Structured skirt Lining All embroidery will be completed prior and materials supplied. This is ideally an ongoing arrangement for the right person. As we expand, we are expecting to be creating 30+ dresses per year. I have a girls short summer shift dress in a towelling fabric (see pic). The dress is size XS which is too small, so I would like to make two copies in a size S and M. I have all the fabric and materials, just no time. I also have a sewing machine - a Singer Simple - so you could either come to my home or do at yours. Need asap.

From a kids dress make a baby bomber jacket

I have a dress that I absolutely love the entire back, and the colour, but the front of the top part is not very flattering for me. I tried to take it to my usual alterations lady but she said (and I agree) this job is going more into custom dress-making territory. As such I am looking for a Sydney-based dress-maker / seamstress who would like to take on this challenge. I have some ideas but am not fixed on what I’d like the front to look like, I am really happy to be flexible and guided by your experience.
