I have a dress that I absolutely love the entire back, and the colour, but the front of the top part is not very flattering for me. I tried to take it to my usual alterations lady but she said (and I agree) this job is going more into custom dress-making territory. As such I am looking for a Sydney-based dress-maker / seamstress who would like to take on this challenge. I have some ideas but am not fixed on what I’d like the front to look like, I am really happy to be flexible and guided by your experience. I need a dress maker to create a dress for the 17 year old girl for her upcoming ball. We have about two months’ time, and I’ve attached a few reference photos and a sketch to give you a general idea of the design. We’d love the dress to be made in dark blue satin, floor-length (not longer), with wing-style sleeves that reach all the way down to the hem. We’d also like the back to be open. She is size 6, petite girl. The sketch is a starting point, but there are a few small modifications we’d like to make, which I’d be happy to discuss further.
