I’m looking for an experienced automotive paint repairer or mobile car detailer to help restore the exterior of my black BMW X4 There are several areas with scratches, paint chips and scuff marks that I’d like repaired. Work required: * Remove or minimise long, light scratches along the side doors and body panels. * Repair deeper scratches and paint chips where the paint has come off. * Repair a larger scrape on the lower side panel near the door trim. * Repair scratches and scuff marks around the rear bumper and wheel arch. * Touch up chipped paint near the door handle. * Machine polish and buff affected areas where appropriate. * Colour-match any paint repairs to the original black finish. Requirements: * Experience with automotive scratch and paint repairs. * Prefer someone who can come to me in Melbourne. * Must bring their own tools, materials and equipment. * Looking for a professional finish, not just temporary scratch concealment. * Please advise whether any areas require respraying. Help Needed with Transmission Removal & Rear Main Seal Replacement – 2000 Toyota Echo Looking for an experienced mechanic or someone with good mechanical knowledge to help finish a rear main seal replacement on a 2000 Toyota Echo automatic. Most of the preparation work has already been completed. Everything has been disconnected from the transmission, the subframe has been removed, and I’ve started removing the transmission. However, the engine is currently supported by a hydraulic jack, which isn’t providing adequate support and is causing the engine to sag. I suspect this is making it difficult to remove the transmission. What I need help with: * Bring a suitable engine support bar and potentially tall 3–4 tonne jack stands. * Properly support and stabilise the engine. * Help remove the transmission. * Remove the drive plate and inspect the crankshaft/sealing surface. * Replace the rear main seal. * Reinstall the drive plate and transmission. What’s already done: * Transmission components disconnected. * Subframe removed. * Transmission removal started. * No need to reinstall the subframe or other removed components. I’m looking for someone with experience working on automatic transmissions who has the appropriate equipment and can help complete this stage of the repair safely. Hi, I recently purchased a 2015 Toyota Camry and would like to have a qualified/experienced mechanic give the car a thorough inspection. The main purpose is to check the overall mechanical condition of the vehicle and identify any existing issues or anything that may require attention or maintenance in the near future. There is also a small ticking/clicking noise coming from around the front right wheel area. I mainly notice it when going over a speed bump or driving onto an uneven road. It isn’t very loud or causing any obvious driving issues, but I would like to understand what is causing it. If it turns out to be something minor that can be fixed on the spot, such as tightening or adjusting something, I’m happy to pay extra for the repair. Ideally looking for someone experienced with Toyota/Camry vehicles who can inspect the engine, suspension, brakes, steering, tyres, fluids and general mechanical condition and let me know if there is anything I should be concerned about.
