Time and date to be confirmed for after the long weekend. Thanks My bathroom cabinet has lost one of the hinges from its 2 symmetrical doors. Both hinges will likely need replacement because they are old and replacement hinges sold today are slightly different. EDIT I have included pictures of the new hinges I purchased and tried, which didn't work. Update, here is a clearer picture of the job, summarised by AI. I don't want it to appear too straightforward and have potential taskers feel they weren't given adequate notice of the following: 🛠️ Summary of the Task & Key Complexities The job is to fix a bathroom mirrored cabinet door. This is not a simple “remove old hinge, install new hinge” task. 🚩 Core Issue The cabinet is 10+ years old, and the original hinge system is no longer manufactured. A standard replacement hinge does not align with the existing mounting points inside the cabinet. This means: • A new hinge cannot be installed using the existing screw holes • The door cannot be re-mounted using a simple swap‑over • The task requires measurement, alignment, and problem‑solving, not just replacing parts.

We have older guests coming and our UTÅKER bed frame is too low to the ground. We would like someone with the right tools and handy enough with woodwork to create replaceable legs which are taller. There are clear instructions on how to do this via Ikea Hackers including with the specs/measurements etc to work from. Should be an easy job for someone who works with wood. This could be done at home and posted to us (in this scenario we wouldn’t send final payment until legs received and know they work); but also happy to provide the existing smaller legs if this helps with creating the new legs / someone to come in person. We are fairly flexible on timings so long as completed before Nov when guests arrive. https://ikeahackers.net/2023/09/ikea-stackable-bed.html We would like to add 15cm to the leg height, currently leg height c.20cm so total would be a leg of 35cm height. As per instructions above tools required : Wood for new legs, instructions suggest 44x44mm planed timber (standard size), 8 x 30cm (miter) saw Drill press (or regular drill and steady hands) ⌀7,5mm drill bit ⌀8,1mm drill bit ~⌀12-13mm drill bit or countersink drill bit drill bit bigger than the size of plastic feet Optional: - printed drilling jig/ drawing and glue (file available in attachment) - router and big round-over bit NB we do not want to use bed risers as want to configure as double bed, using bed risers will mean that the beds cannot sit flush and will be big gap in middle. Having these pieces give us more flexibility with the Utaker series. Location : Bondi Road, 2026, Sydney, NSW.
