Getting in touch as I am curious for a ballpark on resurfacing the cabinet doors in my kitchen as well as putting in a new benchtop, but keeping the original carcasses of everything. I've attached some pictures of the kitchen, and note there is the main side with the stove, as well as a small section on the wall behind. My quote query would be for both sides. If it helps for your understanding, I think the existing cabinetry is some kind of kit/prefab unit, but not an IKEA one. The standard cabinet door is 720mm high, and uses Ferrari hinges. They are finished with a laminate/vinyl faux wood texture which I'm hoping to replace. I think the existing cabinet is a laminate/feels quite light and hollow. Pics of the kitchen as it is now are attached. Re what I'm after, I'm keen for something relatively natural for the cabinetry. Probably some kind of wood look (whether real plywood or a laminate, I'm curious to know the price difference/ease). But was also thinking some kind of matte finish solid colour could work? Re the benchtop surface, I was thinking either a wood or even just like a plain metal which I've seen a bit recently? If those materials are too tricky, I'd be up for even just a flat matte finished benchtop (even if that's laminate) of a plain colour, maybe something beigey. Assuming some kind of engineered stone would be too tricky without major surgery.

Looking for an experienced carpenter/joiner to complete two custom timber projects for our jewellery studio in Enmore, Sydney: 1. Freestanding jeweller’s workbench - Build + install custom spotted gum workbench - Plans/specifications provided - We have existing spotted gum timber + cabinetry from our previous studio that we’d ideally like repurposed where possible - Assess existing materials and advise what additional timber/materials are required 2. Slatted timber room divider - Approx. 165cm wide x 251cm high - Ideally constructed from the same/complementary timber as the workbench - Floor-to-ceiling slatted design - Needs to provide privacy while remaining visually open - Ideally removable/minimal impact to the existing floor + ceiling as we lease the space - Mock-up provided, but happy for carpenter to recommend the best construction/fixing method + slat spacing We’ll provide the plans, measurements, photos and existing timber/cabinetry, and will cover the cost of any additional timber/materials required. This is a drafting-only engagement — I am sourcing and manufacturing the joinery overseas, not through a local cabinetmaker, so I need documentation precise enough to hand directly to an overseas manufacturer. • 2 built-in robes (BIRs) • 2 walk-in robes (WIRs) • 2 kitchens • 1 walk-in pantry • 3 bathroom areas (vanities/joinery) • Laundry Deliverables required: • 2D joinery drawings (plan, elevation, and section views) • 3D renders • Exact dimensions: length, width, depth, panel thickness, and installation tolerances • Material specifications: timber types, MDF, plywood, veneers, laminates, finish/colour schedules • Hardware integration: exact locations and models for hinges, handles, drawer runners, locks, integrated LED channels • Construction methods: detailed cross-sections showing joint types (dovetail, dowel, mitre), carcass assembly, and wall-fixing attachments Important: Measurements must be precise — this joinery is being manufactured overseas and shipped, so there’s no opportunity for on-site adjustment. Supply & install shelving – utility cupboard + laundry Looking for an experienced handyman/carpenter to supply and install simple shelving in two areas of my apartment. 1. Utility cupboard Cupboard is approx. 65 cm wide × 58 cm deep × 235 cm high. I’d like approximately 4 full-depth shelves plus one shallower upper shelf, or similar depending on what works best in the space. There is existing internet/data and electrical equipment in the cupboard which needs to remain accessible, so shelving will need to be positioned around this. I’m only looking for basic, functional shelving for general household storage — no need for expensive timber or a cabinetry-quality finish. Walls are plasterboard/gyprock, so shelves will need to be appropriately and securely supported. 2. Laundry Supply and install two simple open shelves on the wall above the laundry sink/splashback (see photo). Thinking basic shelf boards with brackets rather than cabinetry. Shelves should be securely fixed into studs/appropriate structural fixing. Happy for you to recommend the most practical shelf dimensions/materials based on the spaces. Budget includes supply of shelving/materials and installation. Please include all materials in your offer. Photos and cupboard dimensions provided.
