Patch hole in plasterboard on ceiling

The original base of the letterbox has disintegrated and the flap at the front is long gone. We need a solution to this tricky situation. I have purchased another letterbox (pictured) which could be attached above the existing pillar, but then how does one close up the current hole?! Looking for ideas- thanks

I painted 2 x interior walls (feature walls) but the edging is not up to scratch. In other words - rather than having a nice square edge/straight line - the paint has drifted onto the neighbouring walls and needs touching up to make it straight. Further, when I peeled back the blue tape - it has taken some of the paint with it - so has added to the problem. May need to totally repaint neighbouring walls - that's ok - plenty of paint in hand. - Due date: Before Sunday, 10 July 2022
