Title: Mechanical Design Drafter (Contract / 1 Day Per Week) – Wetherill Park Rate: $85 – $110 per hour (based on experience and equipment) Location: On-site (Wetherill Park) + Remote About the Role: We are seeking a versatile Mechanical Design Drafter for a recurring part-time contract (approx. 8 hours per week). The role involves visiting our various sites to conduct manual measurements and translating those into high-quality fabrication drawings. Key Responsibilities: • Site Measuring: Accurate field measurements of existing machinery, including shafts, conveyor components, and structural layouts. • Detailed Drafting: Producing 3D models and 2D shop drawings for machine guards, access platforms, tanks, and bespoke fabrication jobs. • Compliance: Ensuring all designs for platforms and guarding meet AS 1657 and AS 4024 standards. • BOM Generation: Providing accurate Bills of Materials for our fabrication team. Requirements: • Software: Proficiency in SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor (essential). • Experience: Minimum 5 years in mechanical/structural drafting within an industrial or manufacturing environment. • Equipment: Must have your own laptop with licensed CAD software and standard measuring tools (calipers, laser measurer, etc.). • Safety: White Card and a "safety-first" mindset for working around live sites.
