My gaming laptop (acer aspire v turbo) running windows 10 and not capable of running windows 11,was missing some security and quality updates that's I had errors with. I managed to get this installed using windows update assistant. It is now stuck on 99% after updating the ones listed in the picture. I was able to download them using windows update option but how it's been stuck for over an hour after smoothly reaching 99%. I have a family member in Caulfield North. Their computer has failed due to a bad hard disk. I'm computer-literate and would fix it myself but I am in Sydney. Therefore, I'd like your help in getting the computer working again. BACKGROUND: It's an old Windows computer but it has been working well. It started operating slowly (apps not opening, Windows being unresponsive). After a reboot it went into the "disk repair" mode and hasn't started since. To me, it sounds like corruption on the disk or a faulty hard disk. There isn't much information on the computer -- it is mostly used for email and web browsing. I normally connect remotely to help with any computer problems. Under my direction, they have purchased a new 512GB SSD drive. (I hope the computer has SATA connectors!) THE TASK: Replace the existing hard disk with the new SSD drive and load Windows 10. Setup remote access (eg Anydesk). I can then remotely configure the system. Not sure if Windows will recognise the computer for licensing purposes, so I'll buy a Windows license later if necessary -- no need to buy a retail Windows license for the moment. You are welcome to take the computer and do the install at your own location, or to perform the work at their house. You'll need to reconnect the monitors, sound devices, printer, webcam, etc. The end-goal is a computer that boots up with a fresh install of Windows on a new disk, with remote access so I can do the rest of the work. Leave the old disk there because we might need to recover files in future. TO GET THE JOB: Tell me how you will go about installing the hard disk and installing Windows. Windows recently updated my win 10 to win 11. I immediately had trouble with my internet dropping in and out. Last night windows did another update and this morning I could not make any internet connection at all. I decided to roll back the update but totally forgot that I had deleted win.old due to a lack of space. My C drive is now corrupted . I have tried to make a new bootable disk to re-install win 10 but no matter what I do, my old C/D copy of Win 10 will not complete the installation. Hi, I have installed an SSD and would like to install Windows on to it. It is currently installed on the HDD. I have the product key and have also backed my windows file up to USB. Once installed to the SSD i would like some diagnostics done as the PC restarts on its own occasionally.
