Vehicle: Honda Jazz 2005 Issue: I recently had a new key cut, and since then I’ve been having problems with the ignition. The key does not turn smoothly, and sometimes the car won’t start at all. I had RACV attend using the original key, and they advised that the ignition barrel is likely worn down due to the newly cut key. Probably need: Inspection of the ignition barrel Likely replacement of the ignition barrel Ensure the car starts reliably after repair Ideally rekeyed to match existing key (if possible)

Hi, after a mobile mechanic to do a pre-purchase inspection on a 2020 Honda Fit e:HEV I'm planning to buy. It's a Japanese import with around 80,000 km, so ideally I'd like someone who's done a few grey imports before and is comfortable with the e:HEV hybrid system (different setup from the older i-DCD Fits, no DCT in this one). The car is at Trugnania in Melbourne. The importer says it's already been inspected and certified with an RWC, but I want an independent set of eyes on it before I commit.. Main things I'd like covered: - Standard mechanical: engine, brakes, suspension, steering, tyres, fluids, any leaks - Hybrid system: battery state of health and any stored error codes via OBD scan - e-CVT operation, smoothness and any odd noises on the test drive - Body and underbody, particularly rust and signs of past accident repairs or paint work - if possible whether the wear on the car looks consistent with the claimed kms - Auction sheet and any Japanese service records the dealer can show you, and your read on whether they line up with what you're seeing - Honda Sensing functionality if it's fitted (adaptive cruise, lane keep, AEB) After inspection a short summary with photos afterwards would be great as well any expert comments from your side which would help me negotiate with dealer.
