Needing some help with bricking up a wall in my laundry room, was previously a sliding door. Dimensions - 1.58m squared (72cm x 214cm). Not fussed on what type of brick as planning to paint the exterior and plaster the interior, so just wanting the same brick size. Picture attached of area to brick (red) and will be installing a new single door eventually (blue). Happy to negotiate cost as unsure on how much, but hoping for a reasonable price overall! Thanks!! Hope to hear from you soon 😊

Extending 7 small brick piers down a tiered external wall
$750
Booragoon WA, Australia
7th Jan 2026
Hello all. We have council approval to raise up our external brick fence to a common height. This requires the existing brick piers to have additional courses added to the top. I have done a drawing of the required extensions, as well as the infill panels I'm going to install myself - but hopefully you can see what's required. We have enough existing bricks from around the house to do the work, but the critical thing will be to get the extension to look seamless - as close to the original brickwork as possible. Per the photos, there are 3 bricks per course - so see below qty required. Pillar 1 = 3 courses (9 bricks) Pillar 2 = 6 courses (18 bricks) Pillar 3 = 9 courses (27 bricks) Pillar 4 = 12 courses (36 bricks) Pillar 5 = 12 courses (36 bricks) Pillar 6 = 9 courses (27 bricks) Pillar 7 = 6 courses (18 bricks) (Total = 171 bricks) I will provide the bricks but all other materials needs to be supplied by the bricklayer. Thanks guys. Thanks!
Chris turned up on time, understood the project (extending 7 brick piers higher to form a level wall on a sloping block) and completed it really well. Would highly recommend for any brickwork projects specifically - but also recommend for any project as he was really easy to work with.

Raise brick paving to gate track
$300
Bicton WA 6157, Australia
8th Oct 2025
Redoing the brick paving to accommodate the newly installed gate track. Need to raise level so that car won’t impact track when it drives over it. I started the job to replace one side up to the newly installed gate track and whilst I think I did a decent job on the first side I think someone else will be able to do the other side quicker and better than me! May seek an opinion on whether first side has been done sufficiently and consider getting it redone In summary - Pull back a couple more rows of bricks on side that needs the most raising (so that there isn’t a steep ramp) - Add and spread sand (I have 2.5 bags which is hopefully enough but maybe some other base also recommended) to raise level up to above gate track (allowing for settling) and level with other side - Compact - Re-lay bricks with original pattern -Fill cracks with paving sand (I have 1.5bags) This is for labour only but if other products recommended will purchase. It is my best guess based on how long the first side took me on assumption someone with experience in paving and right equipment will be able to do it in 2-3hrs but open to negotiation on that or paying more if it turns out to be a bigger job than I’ve explained
Ash was juggling a few balls at the time of my job which I hadn’t left enough time for. She communicated really well throughout and found a time to get in done by when I needed it. She brought a friend to help knock out the paving in an efficient manner and so far so good!
