I have a ex postie electric bike, the battery seems to charge and be fully charged, but the bike isn't working. My ezip trailz e-bike was fine until I hit a bump, and no longer turns on. I don't have the key to the battery any more, so it is stuck in the bike, but I can charge it like that. If the bike is not worth fixing, I would be OK with taking the electrics off to make it a lighter road bike, if that is not too pricey.

Hi there, I purchased a bike a month ago and it is starting to give problems. As I am a university student and work full-time, I do not have much time to spare. It is my only form of transport so I cannot get to a bicycle shop. I need it done urgently to get to work and university. I will reimburse you for petrol. I can wait another day or 2 as I realise the short notice. I decided my first bike would be cheap, just to see if I like them. I bought a VALK Folding Electric e-Bike on Ebay for $800. I have learnt that is a pedelec type bike. 36V 250watt 20 inch tyres. 6 speed.Derailleur: Shimano Tourney. Pedal assist cadence sensor.rear hub motor Battery: Lithium Ion 36V 8Ah battery. The issue started when occasionally the engine would lose power for a few seconds. This was not because I hit the limit of 25kph. The problem was solved by turning it off and on again(ha!). This problem then became one where there was a "grinding" sound coming from the bike and very little power was being delivered. At this point I stopped riding it. To add insult to injury - I woke up today to see that I had a flat tyre :( I am hoping for someone who really understands these bikes to: - Diagnose and fix grind problem - Lubricate chain - Adjust bolts etc - Fix the flat tire I am sure I will get a lecture on buying such a bike - next time I will save and buy something better. You will be reimbursed for anything of yours that you use eg:lubricant.
