PrePurchase Mechanical Inspection I’m looking for an experienced heavy vehicle/bus mechanic to inspect a Hino RG230 bus in Sydney before I purchase it. I’m currently in Sydney and need someone who can go over the bus thoroughly and give me an honest assessment of whether it is mechanically sound enough to drive from Sydney to Brisbane. Please check as much as possible, including: - Engine condition and starting/running - Oil, coolant and any signs of contamination - Radiator/cooling system - Turbo and intake system - Transmission and clutch - Brakes and air system - Steering and suspension - Diff/drive train - Wheel bearings, tyres and rims - Leaks underneath - Electrical system and batteries - Dash warning lights/fault codes - Exhaust/smoke - Any obvious structural/chassis issues - Signs of overheating If possible, I’d also like fault codes scanned, a road test and an inspection underneath the bus. The bus is advertised as “starts, runs, drives and stops”, but I want an independent opinion before handing over money. I can provide the exact location and arrange access with the seller. Please only apply if you have genuine experience with heavy vehicles, buses, Hino trucks/coaches or similar. I’d ideally like photos/videos of anything concerning and a quick written summary of what you find, including whether you would personally drive it from Sydney to Brisbane and what repairs you think it may need.
