Top Pool Table Removals related questions
No, a minivan or sedan isn’t suitable for transporting a pool table. Pool tables are heavy, bulky, and need to be dismantled and secured properly to avoid damage. You’ll generally need a ute, large van, or truck, along with the right lifting equipment. Professional pool table removalists can handle the disassembly, transport, and reassembly to keep everything safe and level.
3-piece slate pool tables have far more adjustment points than a single-slate table. They're also more brittle and fragile than 1-piece slate tables, but if installed correctly and levelled adequately, they always play far better. This is why fragile removalists still prefer the traditional 3-piece slate pool tables for tournaments. Meanwhile, 1-piece slate pool tables in coin-operated style are designed for heavy use, making it a popular choice for bars.
Taskers can move a 3-piece slate pool table virtually anywhere. For safer handling, they may need to take apart your pool table to pieces. If the slates still can't fit in the lift, they may use the stairs or ramp without any extra charges. Meanwhile, moving your 1-piece slate pools can be a little more complicated. Not easily adjustable, it might be hard to maneuver them from one floor to another. When in doubt, you can always consult your Tasker for recommendations.
Depending on the make and model of your pool table, they weigh at least 600 pounds to 1000 pounds. The bulky and complicated structure makes the item notably harder to move, hence further requiring at least four people to completely move a pool table. You can assign multiple Taskers by reposting your tasks on our platform. For transparency, inform your Taskers that they will be working with other pool table removalists for the job.
Definitely! Airtasker can also connect you with a range of professional pool table assembly experts who can help you put together your newly purchased pool table. They can handle almost any make and model as long as you have the manual on hand. Skilled and experienced, they can complete your pool table assembly safely and securely rather than doing it yourself.
Through the platform, you can easily find plenty of professional Taskers who can help you pack and move your furniture from one place to another. Aside from pool table removals services, there are also piano removalists, as well as heavy lifters and furniture removals for large and heavy items like beds, wardrobes, gym and fitness equipment, as well as playground sets and trampolines.
In Australia, moving a pool table typically costs between $112 and $500, depending on the table size, weight, access, and whether it needs to be dismantled.

What do pool table removals services include?
A pool table removals service typically involves skilled removalists who can come to your location and take the stress out of moving such a large and complex item. This service covers everything from careful disassembly and secure handling to safe transport and reassembly at the new location.
When you book a pool table removals service through Airtasker, most Taskers can help you with the following:
Disassemble your pool table
Removalists begin by dismantling every removable section of the pool table to ensure it can be moved safely and efficiently. This includes taking off the pockets, bumpers, corners, and the heavy slate pieces. Slates are particularly challenging due to their weight and how easily they can chip or crack, so precise handling is essential. Professional pool table removalists use proven techniques to ensure each component is removed with maximum care.
If you're preparing a larger move, you may also find it helpful to book Taskers for other home-setup services. There are nearby home decoration services you can book to arrange any new decors you've bought for your new house, or a Wi-Fi extension setup to ensure your gadgets are ready for a smooth work-from-home arrangement.
Transport your pool table components
Once disassembled, the pool table components are wrapped securely using moving blankets or protective pads, with the slate pieces often placed into sturdy wooden crates to minimise movement and prevent damage during transit. All parts are then transported safely to the new address, where the removalists can carry them directly to your preferred room or games area.
Move your pool table within the home
For moves within the same home or building, such as during a renovation or room reconfiguration, removalists may use heavy-duty furniture sliders for short distances. However, moves to another room or level usually require a full or partial disassembly to prevent structural strain and accidental damage. Components are carefully padded and protected to avoid marks on walls, door frames, and flooring along the way.
Reassemble your pool table
Removalists can rebuild it by reversing the disassembly process. This includes reinstalling the frame, placing and securing the slate, reattaching the pockets and cushions, and ensuring everything is aligned correctly. They can also level the playing surface and check for any issues that may have occurred during the move.
While you're at it, you can also request your Tasker for a pool table reassembly. If you're refreshing your game room, you may want to book a pool table recovering to give your table a clean, updated playing surface. Refelting a pool table in Australia typically costs between $285 and $515 in Australia, with additional labour fees of around $100 to $299 depending on your location.
