I have a 2008 Falcon EA-FG wagon with 300k on the clock that is not starting. Yesterday I went to start the car and it started making by metallic grinding/banging noise on my second or third time attempt and so stopped and called the RACV. The RACV guy says that it is either: a) The starter motor which can easily be replaced. b) The bendix or ring gear which is a bigger job. I need a mobile mechanic to come out and give me a second opinion. The task is to come and quickly pull out the starter motor and tell me what the actual issue is. If it's just the starter motor then there will be another task to replace it. If it's the bendix or ring gear then another task to fix this is you can. This is a friends car so I will need something in writing like an email or Air Tasker message to conform what's wrong. Just to confirm the task price is to come and quickly pull out the starter motor and tell me what the actual issue is. Thanks

looking for someone to diagnose my Discovery 1. went for a drive recently, everything seems fine with the car, no CEL, no signs of issues. but then out as i left it idling for about 15 seconds and parked the car it stalled when put the car in P. tried to unplug the MAF and still the car wont start. though i could still smell some petrol from the exhaust after i crank the engine. havent check the spark plug, but i’m assuming this might be a CPS problem. so to any of you guys out there that understands or familiar/have worked with Discovery 1 please reach out.

I’m looking to buy a second hand car (still on the hunt) but I don’t want to get ripped off or sold a shit car that is close to breaking down. I’m looking for somebody to help me find potential options and do a pre purchase inspection.
I would give ten stars to Camillla and Adam if I could! I received the best service I could wish for. Communication was great, they were available at short notice and did an incredibly thorough job on the pre purchase inspection. This gave me the peace of mind I was looking for when it comes to a big purchase like this. Need someone experienced to come out and fix my window. It won't go up, likely needs a new regulator but if I can get it up and confirm atleast for now so it's not open and a safety risk. Will need to replace the part if broken also but for now just want to get it up. The car also has a stalling issue and depolution error code coming up and engine cuts out often while driving.
