Airtasker’s mobile dog grooming service covers pretty much everything you’d expect at a regular dog grooming salon or any other pet grooming van: a wash, blow-dry or towelling-off, a trim according to your specifications, oral care and ear cleaning, and nail trimming. These may vary slightly depending on the Tasker you choose to work with, plus your pet’s own needs. But in general, here’s what to expect once the grooming service arrives at your door: 

Bathing your dog

Usually, a dog grooming session starts with a bath, though you can choose to skip this step (e.g. if you’ve already given your dog a bath, or they can’t have one just yet due to vaccination or illness). Your Tasker may use their preferred brand of shampoo, or you can provide your own. Once your pet is bathed, the Tasker towels them off or blow-dries them and brushes their fur. 

Haircut and nail trimming for your pet

Next, the Tasker gives your dog’s fur a trim. This can be as simple as shaving and trimming excess fur on the paws and stomach, or as major as shaving off most of their fur. If you have a specific request for your dog’s haircut, make sure to tell your Tasker before they reach for the shears and razor. If necessary, your mobile pet groomer will trim your dog’s nails, or advise you if they’re still too short to be trimmed.  

If it’s your pet’s shedding season, they’ll benefit from some extra brushing time to speed up or minimise shedding indoors. Of course, this is a natural part of life with your furry friend and can easily be fixed by regular home and upholstery cleaning. 

Ear cleaning and tooth brushing

Grooming also includes cleaning your pet’s ears and teeth. Your Tasker will use special tools, such as an ear cleaning solution, a pet toothbrush, and a pet toothpaste. Ideally, your dog should have their own toothbrush in your home. Oral bacteria can be spread when toothbrushes are shared by different pets - it’s just as gross for them as it is for us humans! 

Flea treatment

While not all Taskers offer this service, some may do so. If you have the type of anti-flea medicine that needs to be applied after a bath, you can ask your Tasker to do this for you. This extra step keeps your pet safe from parasites, prevents the spread of disease across pets, and prevents the need for pest control.
