Find trusted mechanics in Coorparoo

Hi! I’m looking for a mechanic or someone experienced with cars who would be willing to come to my home in Coorparoo and have a look at my 2010 Hyundai i30 CRDi diesel automatic. The car has 286,609 km and was a reliable car for me for years, but it’s currently not running and the rego expired in July 2026. It previously had an oil leak which ended up getting oil into the starter motor. The starter motor has since been replaced, and I have also put in a brand-new Century battery from Supercheap Auto (receipt available), but the car is still not starting/getting power. At this stage I really just need someone knowledgeable to have a look and give me an idea of what the problem might be, whether it could potentially be a reasonably simple/affordable repair, and whether the car is worth spending any more money on or if I should just sell it as-is. I’m a single mum with two young daughters and really need to finally sort out my car for us, as Ubers are just far too expensive. I unfortunately don’t have a big budget to keep replacing parts without knowing what’s actually wrong with it. Offering around $50 for someone to come out, have a look and give me their opinion/advice. I’m not expecting repairs to be included for cheap price I’m requesting — just an initial assessment. If it turns out to be something straightforward, we can discuss the cost of repairing it separately. I started the install yesterday afternoon but ran out of light and patience. Complete install of Vehedia head unit for 2014 Toyota Prado, replacing a previous after market one. I have taken out the old head unit and installed the one I to the fascia. Just need to complete connecting wires which was a bit fiddly before completing the install.
