What do levelling services include?
Yard levelling involves creating a smooth surface on your piece of land. It almost means the same as grading services, which refers to the sloping of a yard away from the foundation of a home. Both are important when you want to have a beautifully maintained lawn, and avoid soil erosion and other drainage problems in your garden space!
There are different methods to level or grade your yard depending on its natural grading, soil makeup, vegetation, and general needs. Here are the most common ways that you can expect from yard levelling and grading services near you:
Soil mixture installation
For this method, you may need to have your grass mowed first and detach your lawn as needed. When it’s ready, your Tasker can dig up the grass in the sunken area of the lawn. They can mix topsoil, sand, and compost and then use this soil mixture to fill the sunken areas and holes. Once done with filling out the holes and divots, your Tasker can cover your entire lawn with about 1/4 to 1/2 inches of the mix to even out the land. Keeping this layer thin is important because putting too much can choke your grass. Then, you can run your sprinklers and water your lawn to help the soil mixture settle in, filling air pockets and revitalising your property. Taskers can use a soil compactor and make sure the underlying remains compact and keep your new lawn flat.
Taskers can also offer sod installation to stimulate regrowth and make your lawn or yard look pristine again. You can use regular grass seed or topsoil for the aftercare, but it's better to ask if laying sods can be done, as well.
Bobcat machinery
When your Tasker uses a versatile piece of machinery like Bobcat for a garden levelling project, it allows them to scoop and move dirt easily. If you book yard grading near you, you may be required to put up barriers around the perimeter of your operation. When your space is ready, your Tasker can start using the Bobcat to shave off parts of your unlevel yard, starting at an area that is as level as possible. As your Tasker levels your yard, they can create benchmarks and check out its grading. If needed, they can adjust low spots with low soil, while the excess soil will be sent to the spoils pile. The Bobcat can still be used to tamp down the ground. Once done, your Tasker can call a dump truck to have the excess dirt removed.
Excavation
Booking yard grading services near you may not just involve filling holes into level the land, especially if you’re planning to build a structure on it. Your Tasker can first clear out vegetation and tree roots. Then, they can start digging holes to create low-lying areas using a bulldozer or backhoe to be involved. The dirt removed while your Tasker is digging can be used to back-fill around the new structure. Afterwards, the richer topsoil that was also removed can be used to overlay the fill dirt, so that grass and shrubbery can grow well on your newly-graded yard. Take advantage of this method to remove unwanted or contaminated soil if needed.

I need my paving fixed up in my back yard so it is complete to fence line. There are some old tree root bits in the way and a plant root of some sort that isn’t too big. You’ll also need to pave around the fig tree but leave it put. There are also a couple of bigger cracked pavers that need replacing. I need the paving level so no trip hazards for me/kids. I cannot help and need job fully done as my back is injured. There isn’t a whole lot to do really, it’s more a matter of getting rid of a little bit of dirt, levelling ground, finding pavers that match to fill the missing spots and finding a few of the bigger pavers that can replace those cracked on the step wall. You will need to bring the pavers - we can negotiate that as needed. There are often free pavers on market place, I need to keep this job within budget and lowest cost for completion.
