I’m looking for someone experienced with lawn preparation and turf installation to renovate my backyard in Box Hill NSW 2765. The existing lawn is patchy and the ground is uneven. Some areas of the soil become soft and muddy after rain or watering, although there is no significant standing or pooling water. The ground will need proper preparation, levelling and soil improvement before the new turf is installed. Backyard measurements: • Overall backyard area: 4.0 m × 7.5 m = 30.0 m² • Alfresco area within this space: 3.0 m × 1.5 m = 4.5 m² • Water tank footprint: 1.8 m × 0.9 m = 1.62 m² • Air-conditioning unit footprint: 1.4 m × 0.8 m = 1.12 m² • The water tank and air-conditioning unit are positioned in an L-shape. After excluding the alfresco, water tank and air-conditioning unit, the estimated lawn area is approximately 22.76 m². Allowing for cutting and wastage, approximately 25 m² of turf should be required. Work required: • Remove existing grass/weeds as required • Prepare and improve the existing soil • Correct uneven areas and low spots • Improve the muddy/soft areas as required • Supply and/or install suitable turf underlay • Level and grade the area properly • Install new natural Buffalo turf • Ensure correct finished levels around the alfresco, house, water tank and A/C • Remove waste and leave the area clean on completion The backyard receives limited direct sunlight and is shaded for most of the day, so I am looking at a shade-tolerant Buffalo variety. I will attach photos showing the current condition of the backyard. Please provide a quote showing labour and materials separately where possible. I’m happy to either supply the turf myself or have you supply everything as part of the job.
