The work includes clearing the area by removing existing grass, weeds, roots, and debris, and disposing of all waste offsite. Excavation of 50–100mm of soil will be required, with the area leveled and a slight slope of 1–2% for drainage. A quality weed membrane should be laid with overlapping edges. Base material such as crushed rock or decomposed granite (~50mm) must be spread evenly, large stones removed, and compacted using a plate or vibrating compactor. The base should be raked smooth and checked for correct slope. Supply and lay antimicrobial, pet-friendly turf (30–35mm pile), secure seams, cut edges, add infill, and brush fibers. A layer of sand should be spread over the top and brushed through to support fibers and improve drainage. Final checks must ensure a smooth, firm surface with proper drainage, fully ready for pet use. The turf must have a minimum 10–15 year warranty. Contractor must supply all materials, tools, compactor, and labor. Previous experience with full artificial grass installations is essential.
